Kylington seemed like a guy that fit the Red Wings mold. Glad he's still a Flame.

Did they actually? Pretending to bid with the Canucks last minute for him to get him in a Canucks jersey is working out more brilliantly than expected. Treliving you sly dog.

"little" to much?
To some he is close to the second coming of Bobby Orr.
He is what he is at this point....nothing more than a tweener who can skate above average but do nothing else particularly well....especially when pressured. Doesn't mean that he wont or cant figure it out, but there has been no indication of that to this point and he is likely 8th on the depth chart now.....where he belongs.
I've never understood it myself.

The Wings already have 8 defencemen on their roster with more NHL experience than Kylington.

Taking a while to get to 5000

I mean, this doesn't prevent these players from being traded now I suppose.
Wouldn't celebrate quite yet, but its probably safe.

Balcers goes back to SJ. I think he was the best player available. Glad to see Sbisa is going to get another crack too.
The reality is that most teams have a kylington.

Seems like Flames fans have serious PTSD over Paul Byron.

Great news! Every one of those guys is valuable to this team. Rinaldo was not mentioned by others to be concerned but there is an element he brings. He's got a great attitude IMO and brings the team a certain confidence. I just think he's a hard driving guy and will push people to give max effort.
Ryan has proven is value, his smarts, his skill and had Kylington gone I would've been pretty bummed - he needs to keep working so we can see those skills and natural talent unleashed.
Great news.

It's okay, we'll be right about Treliving having no idea what he's doing on the next thing.

What some people don't understand is that every team has a prospect or two like Kylington. A young player who hasn't quite put it all together.
I agree with you though. Outside of his skating he doesn't do anything particularly well. His decision making is very poor, which makes his most useful skill moot as he never seems to do anything productive at speed.

Wow I can’t believe Kylington wasn’t picked up and Luca Sbisa was. I remember the Flames absolutely owning Sbisa a few years ago in the playoffs. I think the Canucks use to have saying about Luca offering Sbizzas up the middle or something because he was so prone to giveaways.

Maybe a reality check for the lot of you who think Kylington is better then he really is.

I still feel that one. I was ready to sign Paul Byron to a multi year deal while Treliving was waiving him instead. I remember the anger I felt when I heard he was claimed. Probably the first time I’ve ever been upset over a waiver transaction.

Paul Byron has enough highlights as a Flame for AC to make a video of them.
Kylington doesn’t.

I don’t think it’s a matter of what Kylington is, he’s a 7th dman. It’s a matter of what the potential he has to become. He’s a terrific skater and can see the ice very well, he just needs to put it together at the NHL level

Not exactly the same situation but getting rid of Stralman because of having other D still stings a bit too.
