General question, what information do the scanners see at Louise. They told my
Wife home many days so far but what other info pops up for them?
It was amazing today. Ptarmigan trees were great and west bowl was outstanding. Vag was awesome. It was perfection all day.

It's a run off the Gondola. There like this rickety wooden fence that looks like a ski area boundary. You can kind of hop over the fence in a couple spots and go down this amazing run that not many people do.

No problem. I looked at a run map and couldn't really figure out where it is based on that. Next time I'm there I'll figure out exact names to get you there and maybe I'll even take a picture for you. I may not go next weekend, but will be there the Saturday after for sure.

Any Sunshine run/chair recommendations for me boarding solo this weekend? I havne't been there in a long time.

I do like runs like Ptarmigan trees/glades.

Anyone have heated goggles and are they worth it on these cold days? Fogged up goggles are the actual worst. I swapped out lenses at lunch, but I'd rather not deal with the issue at all. Normally not a terrible problem, but with mask up over my nose and mouth all day I am having issues.

I have some nice quality, modern Oakleys that aren't heated. I find that when I wait in line, I can leave my goggles on my head, so I can pull up my mask and breathe. When I get on the lift, I put the goggles back on and pull my mask under my nose to prevent fogging.

With my old goggles, if I took them off like that in line, they would be instantly fogged.

Carry 2 pairs. Most coats have an internal goggle pocket, swap when necessary. Your own body heat will usually defog the pair inside your coat.

Also use a good mask with a nose wire like the nxtstop masks. No idea why, but my goggles are fine with one of those on vs buffs/paper/cloth masks which turn my lenses into ice balls.

I also use defog spray, and carry a smith snow eraser which will likely be the best $5 you’ll ever spend. Another rule of thumb; don’t ever touch your lenses with anything other than a lens cloth or a tool designed for goggles. This includes fingers.

I'm not a big fan of Sunshine but when I go I usually just stick to the runs off of Great Divide or the trees off Tee Pee town.

I haven't lived anywhere near Calgary for a long time, but had a fantastic day with the kids at one of our local mountains out here in coastal BC. Yesterday was one of the best powder days I can remember out here; almost as good as snowboarding in the interior and the Rockies.

I cracked my ribs pretty hard on a tree at the end of the day. It's the first injury I have suffered in nearly ten years. Thank god it was our last run, but I fear it's going to bother me for a while.

Frontside?? And is this skier’s left or right from the gondola?

Frontside. It's a run you guys will have likely done and don't get too excited...it's just a wicked little thing kind of like a funnel shape - wide at the top with great snow and it narrows into a skinny little run. It's not super hard or anything, but it's fun and never busy so the snow there is always better than anything else on the front side (not including West Bowl). Is it possible it was the old (like 1970s) gondola where there are just the uprights left? IDK. Must be skiers right of new gondola. I've been riding it since I lived there in the 90s, but I don't know the names of anything so I'm super useless. My kids' coach just told me it's called Vag a few weeks ago and I had never heard anybody name it anything. Does that help at all?

For a frontside quick bomb down from the top of the Gondola, I don't think there's anything better.

Ah, OK, it's been years since I went down there. Also, TIL they have streetview at LL.

They just need a winter mode. It's barely recognizable without snow!

EDIT:Oh, hey, most of it is winter mode.
