DeBrusk is horrible to listen to. Everything is about the No Goods. No thanks; I'll listen on "silent" when he and Randorf are on the air.

Dude you've said this twice now. By definition, she can not mansplain anything to you.

Look at our GTs when someone other than Campbell or Hrudey is on. Look way back at them when one of the ones who she is being compared to evenly is on.
The complaining is pretty constant when she's on, way more than for others.

Cassie's analysis that Forbort being on the red-eye from LA last night, so he would have had a good afternoon nap, was riveting stuff.
I can see why people don't like her, and it has nothing to do with her being female.

I don't mind Cassie. Having said that, she could get a voice coach who would help her to vary her intonations, cadence and overall delivery. This is what non-natural-good-speakers do, or singers (I have a son who is a singer and his voice instructor was adamant about this). Also phraseology...she could indeed lose the "no question about it" part of her lexicon.
Toastmasters or something like that is a good place as well.
To me ALL CC people fail to a certain extent, and for that I fault "wordiness" on both the CC and PbP people. The British style for soccer is far better: "Jones....Smith....Ivanov... broken up nicely by Stettler...." with pauses and cadence. We ARE after all WATCHING the play.
Anyway, I do get tired of the endless Cassie crap here. It does somewhat border on misogyny to me. It's light, but annoying. If you don't like her, turn the sound off, same as I do with Debrusk/Randorf.

That's pretty standard CC fluff. I could totally picture the exact same statement from Hrudey or Debrusk, with no comments about it at all. The only difference is that Hrudey'd maybe make it funny. Though I think Ball's the funny one and Hrudey just laughs.

If Hrudey had said the same thing, would you have even noticed or commented sarcastically? (Doesn't require an answer, just self-reflection.)

God, we beat the best team in the league and all you guys are talking about is the damn commentators?
Who cares if the people on air are women or men, they have a responsibility to their jobs, some people prefer who they prefer, get on with it.
Lets enjoy the last two wins and hope it turns into something longer and we can jump up in the standings.
This is a huge confidence booster, the trades BT made I believe are going to help the team now, that was obvious from the performance last night. I hope we see more of that style of play at home, why can't they do that at home?
Thank you Brad Marchand for getting the team all riled up! That was the TSN turning point in the game. Great game by Rittich, Eat Bread was everywhere last night, beating guys to the puck constantly. Forbort and Gustafsson played well, they didn't look out of place really besides maybe a couple of times. It is nice to see a defenseman who thinks to shoot first, it is refreshing. I can't tell you how many times I am yelling shoot at my tv game after game. We need more of that from the point, I hope the rest of the players can see how effective it is. We scored last night from a shot by Hanifin of the end boards and Brodie hit the post on an innocent looking shot from the point. We need to do that more often, it doesn't always have to be the perfect passing play or perfect shot, just gotta get it through.
That was fun, that is why we cheer for a team for entertainment. Keep it going!

I meant "mansplaining" from a hockey player perspective. We're not pro hockey players, but we understand how gravity works and that a puck in the air will fall to the ice all on its own.
I guess I could have said "hockeyplayersplaining."

I don't think Hrudey would have to dig that deep for "color", he would have something more interesting/insightful to add. She states the obvious, and frames it as analysis.

Fine... I'm not a woman, and she's not a man, but she's a hockey player and I'm not, and she's talking about hockey.

Mansplaining is a pejorative term meaning "to comment on or explain something to a woman in a condescending, overconfident, and often inaccurate or oversimplified manner".

"Mansplaining" gets the point across without having to type out "comment on or explain something in a condescending, overconfident, and often inaccurate or oversimplified manner."

It has been said a few times before but I think this is a coaching issue. The team plays a simpler game on the road; when I watch them play on home ice it feels like the players are much more often confused or uncertain about their assignments.

That would be

(and former team Canada hero...)

Have you listened to Hrudey? Half of his stuff is personal "players often like this routine" or "when I played I liked it when..." kinda schtick. I like him a lot but he's almost never takes a deep dive into analysis.
The mechanics of a traded player coming in and playing on short rest/practice are a really typical example of what a colour person normally adds.
Bad example, but Remenda went on and on about the new guys and how they'd feel.

Are we talking about the same Kelly Hrudey? He seldom says anything insightful, and the only interest he provides to the broadcast stems from funny stories about when he once played. I think a lot of people have a point, here, and this is exactly what they are talking about : Campbell endures more criticism for essentially doing nothing different from her peers.

Ok insightful was likely a bad choice of word, entertaining would be better. I find Kelly Hrudey to be exponentially more interesting than Cassie Campbell. Better?
