Ways tonight could have gone better:
-Lucic pumping Kassian's eyes shut in the third

That is all

I love what Gaudreau and Monahan do on ice, but vocally they do not bring that swagger. And when the Oilers had that little run going against us under gulutzan, the results just didn't seem to bother them much. Just didn't feel like they cared that much about the rivalry. They'd just keep it ho hum and respectful, whereas guys like Matthew and Rasmus actually seem to be frothing at the mouth to stick it to that team and that's what I've been dying to see from our top players. That's what we need. Some guys to go into battle, fire some shots at the other side and inspire the rest to get on board.

I think there is something to be said for this. Your emotional center does not have to be you skill center. Its amazing when it is, or when they work together, but your most skilled players don't necessarily have to be the ones to drag your team into/through the mud.

But in the end you still need both, in whatever form that presents itself.

Lucic has to pick his spots after his suspension. The important thing is he is finding ways to contribute and still maintaining some physical play.

Not gonna happen. The NHL protects its superstars and Kassian has 13 goals so.....

Great to see Dube back on the scoresheet, guy still has room to grow but he's turned into a solid top-nine forward for this team.

Watching the Flames D move the puck vs how the Oilers D moves it was night and day difference. One team made clean, crips confident passes. The other team gives it to McDavid and prays he gets enough speed in the neutral zone to gain zone entry.

Amazing how the Flames transitioned up the ice all at once while the Oilers didn't have that capability outside of a couple players.

Him and Mangiapane look more dynamic by the day. Flashes that are becoming more and more frequent. But I'd say moreso the case with Mangiapane.

Andrew look really confident playing with matthew and zebulon. Impressive how much he battles for the tough areas in front of the net, like a guy 4 inches and 30 lbs bigger than he is, but you can tell he has complete faith Tkachuk will get a puck to him if he does.

Ward has created the most effective/promising line combo since 3M.

This exactly. Caveman must have been reading, sorry having somebody read to him given he cannot read, Spector’s articles that he is actually an NHL player. I could get 13 goals if I was on a PP with Mcdingle.
I wish a reporter had the balls to ask him if McDavid should fight lucic or rinaldo given the same situation.
Just listening to this idiot talk is hilarious - like the dumbest of the dumb guy you have played against in beer league. Hate him.

I noticed this as well - overall for the entire team but it was most noticeable by the defence like you said - they showed great patience controlling the puck between them before transitioning up the ice

If our top scorer is expected to answer the bell and drop the mitts - it should be against their top scorer
