I don't know what's happened this season, but the quality of officiating in the NHL has been the worst of any sport I've ever seen, and I'm including wrestling in that discussion.

I'm taking a break from watching hockey. I can't stomach watching this bull#### anymore.

That's been a borderline call at times just putting the stick blade near someone's hands, nevermind a clear scoring chance, nevermind spinning him around and taking him out of the play.

If that's not a penalty, nothing is. Just start picking the puck up and throw it in the net. Dare them to make a call.

Overvalued from fans who know what he can bring, sure. But I think that has a lot to do with knowing (believing) that we haven't seen him at his best at points this year

But when I watch Backs, as uneventful as it is sometimes, he's suppressing a lot of chances.

I'd be shocked if any GM wouldn't jump at the opportunity to have Backs on their roster and I really don't think they'd offer scraps. He's likely of more value to the Flames than what they'd get back, but I don't think that means he's worth pennies
