I think your attitude in this thread has just been down right horrible. It is ok to disagree with people, and to dislike things, but there is a certain way you can go about it that is still respectful.

If you hated the movie that much, why are you still here commentating on it? Go somewhere else, we don't need this vitriol in this thread, and come back when you want to be respectful and constructive.
I really don't get this line of thought. People have every right to criticize this movie, and the criticisms play an important role in how Disney will treat the franchise going forward.

The praise the Mandalorian is getting and the luke warm and mixed response to the RoS will hopefully encourage Disney to steer the franchise in the right direction. It's a duty of the fan to criticize a movie to encourage a better product. There are definitely parts of the RoS that are objectively garbage. The movie seems to be getting a pass with many posters because it's Star Wars, meanwhile no one would complain if posters were slamming the latest Transformers movie. If anything, the opposite should be true here. The RoS needs to be held to a higher standard, for being a Star Wars movie, not a lesser one.

Hate to burst your bubble but Disney isn’t reading your posts for feedback.

They are most certainly looking at fan reactions in a collective way.

No one is interested in having a constructive conversation about it, really.

It's people pointing out major things wrong with the plot and development of the movie.

Then it's been a bunch of guys going "Ah, it's just Star Wars, it's just a dumb fun movie, have some fun!" That seems to have become the main defense for the movie, really.

And... that's it.

I'm sorry I expect something a little more provocative and interesting from Star Wars. It's a franchise I hold to high standard of quality (that it often fails, unfortunately). But to imply that people who didn't like it are just negative killjoys because they actually care about the story and characters and don't just want a stupid movie with spaceships and sword fights is ridiculous. You might not care about Star Wars, but, regardless of the logic behind it, there are lots of people who do. And yes, maybe I was making a not-so-subtle dig that a person who enjoyed it also seemed to be paying very little attention to it. Sue me.

I thought the movie was straight up trash I wanted my money back. It has that Michael Bay vibe to it toss as much crap on the screen as quickly as possible hope no one notices the massive flaws.

Whatever happened to letting the audience breath, think, take in the atmosphere. But the worst part by far is the legacy of the original characters has been completely negated, their story ended up being meaningless. The entire Disney SW arc is meaningless IMO I bet no one can tell you what the trilogy is about.

I'm not going to go so far as to say I hated it but it really left me feeling....pretty disappointed.

The Galaxy is no better or worse off now, effectively, as it was when we were introduced to it in TFA.

Absolutely nothing was accomplished and, what might even be worse is that moving forward I really couldnt have cared less about any of the characters in this instalment. At all.

The old heroes are dead and frankly the new 'heroes' were flat, shallow and entirely uninteresting.

As a Star Wars film I hated it. As just another movie it was a below average film to me, a convoluted who cares what is happening CGI fest. I admit to being quite baffled anyone could love the movie especially as a SW film but hey if you did then great, wish I had the same experience.

I 100%agree with this. I have avoided this thread for the most part because it would be full of people telling me why I should hate this movie. I loved it, it was a great end to the Skywalker story.

The biggest new hero is easily.....Babu Frik. I will watch again strictly for Frik

RE: Finns force sensitivity. I think you could tell all the way back in the first half of TFA. Kylo just seemingly hones in on him from a crowd, Fin collapsing from all the death around him. Maybe that's a reach but there were clues from the get go I think.

I loved the line where C3P0, after having his mind wiped, calls Frik one of his oldest friends.

Seeing as how they completely scrubbed anything and everything that fans were complaining about after the first two movies, from the third, I would say you are mistaken.

I've never been a toy collector but I am contemplating buying the black series C3P0 that comes with Boba Frik... the part where he shows up at the last battle was so well timed. "Hey heeeyyy!!!"

It's not even going to catch TLJ. It might not even hit a billion.

And? It will still be a massive success and plenty of people are seeing it/want to see it

2 random teenagers not wanting to see it is irrelevant

I’m pretty sure Disney’s goal isn’t to see each new instalment make less money

And massive success may not be true. The costs of this movie including marketing are insane

The movie likely passed 800M tonight...I mean, they are probably scraping by lol

Every single movie is not gonna set a new record

Anything under a billion they have said is considered a disappointment / Failure

The movie original budget was $250 million (rumoured) and that was before extensive reshoots

Generally a movie needs to make 2.5 budget to start breaking even after taking into consideration marketing and theatres cut

Assuming 50 million for reshoots (which from what I’ve read is a very low estimate) they need to make approx 800 million to break even

For the cost of this movie it will end up being a failure for Disney
