The CFL has been suffering with everything right in the world. They're a prime candidate to fall if there's a lost season plus massive attendance drops when sports are allowed to bring fans in the following season.
If there is a league that deserves a bailout it’s the CFL. Over 100 years old, uniquely Canadian, employs 1000’s of Canadians as players, coaches, officials, stadium workers, etc. This league doesn’t bring home billions of dollars like the NHL. If WestJet gets a bailout as well as 100’s of other small “for profit” businesses, than the CFL deserves it as well.

I agree but the CFL also needs help from itself. It's time for them to start disclosing player contracts and team salary spending. No more of the secrecy BS. If you want public money it's time to stop hiding behind a phoney salary cap and operating more like a legitimate professional sports league. Also it's time to take player safety seriously. Time to start putting the hammer down on repeat offenders like Simoni Lawrence as this slap on the wrist stuff it total nonsense.

I agree on secrecy and player safety but any bailout/financial support can’t be tied to how the league is run. To do so would be government interference in private business and that’s dangerous.

The Feds will give the CFL a multi-million dollar package, but the CFL has to suspend Simoni forever. Reminds me of that episode of The Office:
Im thinking the Stamps have to take LB Jordan Williams at #1 tonight.
Does anyone want to see the Stamps go in a different direction and trade the pick or take an OL?
Yeah, seems like a no-brainer with Cory Greenwood being 34 years old and Nate Holley likely moving on from the Stamps. If still available in round 2, does Huf take a flyer on former UBC receiver Trivel Pinto? Very talented receiver, but has had some off-field issues.

I sure hope they can soothe the Holley thing over and keep him around. Nothing against McManus as he was good last year too, but Williams and Holley could be a devastating LB duo for a long time if the Stamps can keep them.

Holley is only here for another year if he loses arbitration. If not this year he's gonna try NFL next off-season and if he doesnt make it I doubt he'll come back to the Stamps after going through all this.
McManis is a beast and he likes playing in Calgary, he's a lot safer bet to be in Calgary long-term then Holley.
