I think everyone would agree to let him have a final season

It feels weird discussing the fantasy implications of something so horrible but when this has happened in the past we have retired players immediately.

I don't think it has been this close to home, as it were, in the past.
It might go against the spirit and attempted realism of the league, but I think finding a way to keep him in this game is something I would support

I can't recall a situation even close to this really. I am okay with whatever we decide to be clear.

Extremely Tragic. Only situation ii can recall that is remotely close is when Alexei Cheepanov died on the ice.

Yeah, there was that, and Luc Bourdon and his motorcycle accident, and Dmitri Tertyshny getting cut by the boat motor, and Steve Chiasson getting killed in a car accident.
But Gaudreau's is hitting a bit different.

Help, save, whatever.

Maybe a poll to keep him for one more year or rwtire him? I'd vote to keep him. Its a nice memorial as well. Ill be keeping an eye on how he does over the season.

Maybe we create some annual reward or something with his name?

I had the thought this morning, why don’t we call the “CPHL championship” the “Gaudreau Cup” or something along those lines? I don’t think we have a “Stanley cup” name for the cup

Yes that’s what we are going to do
Our championship will now be the Johnny Gaudreau Memorial Cup
But we are going to retire him from the league

I think retiring Gaudreau is the right move. As weird as it sounds, I didn't want to be reminded of him every time he gets a point in the SIM. It's just too tragic.
But honoring him with our league title is fantastic. And I. Not sure about other GM's, but my desire to win sure went up a lot.
