Prior to his brain cramp I thought he was forechecking well. But yeah, both goals were on him to a degree, especially the first one.

I actually think the effort level is there tonight, just some sloppy own zone plays. Some guys like Johnny, Hathaway, Frolik, Backlund are flying

why did peters stop matching 3m to the avs top line right as they were stomping the avs trio?

Yes, if you are are talking about Smith.
Brodeur is the reason the trapezoid exists.

Nah, don’t rock the boat because of one subpar period when the line has been lights out all season.

I remember a NJ-Leafs game where Toronto got six (6) shots.
NJ trapped, Toronto dumped it in. Brodeur dumped it out.
Rinse. Repeat.
6 shots.

I am a little surprised at the posters who thought Aves played better that period.
Admittedly I missed the first 10 minutes due to a crap satellite signal, but thought Flames easily the better team. The first goal was a series of unfortunate events - caught stretch pass, lost stick, unset goalie. The second was weak.

I think the shots are a bit skewed because of the power plays but the Avs definitely controlled the play the last half. The Flames dominated the first half.

Well Smith hadn't even entered the league yet so I'm not sure that means Brodeur was better than Smith. Maybe if Smith was older than Brodeur the trapezoid would've been implemented earlier.
They're both great, but Smith is just better.

Flames didn't receive a power play in the 1st period. That feels like good news.
