At this point anyone can do as good of a job. If GG is back next year I might take a year off. Even the bottom place teams can string together a few wins, to by can't the Flames?

What’s the appeal with AV? Other than one run in 2011 with a very talented team, he has under-performed everywhere he has coached. I think i’m Out on him.

If the Flames bring in a coach that has the team looking like the Wild/Devils under Lemaire or the Coyotes under Tippett then I don't know if I could watch.... Please no

No more “project” type coaches, no more cheaping out and hiring coaches to “grow with the team” or whatever BS excuse to justify a lame hire. Get a real coach (assuming one comes available) capable of earning respect of the players and getting the job done. Quit screwing around with the position and do it right FFS!

I would rather keep GG than bring in Tippett. JQ, AV, or D. Sutter is fine.

For what its worth. I have on good word that something will be announced in 2 weeks or so about Bill Peters. Not that Calgary is his destination but the speculation is, something is going to be announced about him. He advised not to worry, it’s already been worked out. They weren’t 100% sure what that meant, he’s keeping it close to chest but they think he’s likely headed to Chicago... deal in place.
I never understood the secrecy around people and their sources or rumors but I finally understand. I really don’t want to say too much without it being obvious who it came from. There appears to be people other than us fans who read these things.

He coaches an offensive style. Even this year's awful Rangers roster has sixteen more goals in one less game.
I don't think he's the best choice but he could get this roster into the top 5-10 in offensive categories.

Ruff brings a lot of experience, but also coaches a more structured variant of Hartley hockey which has been proven to work with this core group. The 2016 Stars won their division and were a game 7 goaltending collapse away from the WCF. He's not perfect but at present he is the coach I want. The fit is there.

This is a joke right?
Desjardins and GG are like twins, they've been interlinked for years.
All the complaints you hear about GG right now from Flames fans are the exact complaints you heard from Canuck fans a few years ago about Desjardins.
Baffling player usage, stubborn adherence to systems that don't work, no ability to recognize or change momentum, no line matching and adjustments.
GG and Desjardins might as well be father and son.
Remember how Hartley schooled him in The playoffs?
