I'm not convinced of that at all regarding Lazar.
He can get a chance to earn more time next year if he doesn't show more than what he is doing now. It is not Stajan or Brouwer's fault he's floundering as bad as he is because he's struggled really badly even when he's not played with those two washed ups.

I think he's saying that he's been established as a top 6 forward for a while now, and he should actually be considered a top 3 forward since that's been his role and production level for almost a calendar year now.

Sean Monahan is the first Flame to start his career with five straight 20-goal seasons since Joe Nieuwendyk.

Ferland playing with massive confidence right now and it's really translating to results. This is how good he can be, what a stretch he's on.

When Ferland was Lazars age, he put up 5 points in 26 NHL games. This year Lazars put up 4 points in 27.
No, Lazar probably won't be a first liner in 3 years, but to cast him aside yet is foolish. It's too bad that it'd be hard to give him the AHL time I thi k he needs though. Ferland benefited from being brought up from the system, Lazar was rushed and I think it hurt him

Why on earth is the panel complimenting oilers players in the midst of their worst hockey, during our broadcast.

Man, it looks like Sean Monahan is suffering from Iggyforeheaditis. For a young man he already has a deep, deep crease in his forehead.

I agree, no need to give up yet. Keep him rotating in and out and learning. I think if he gets a chance to play with Hrivik and Mangiapane it may help boost his confidence a bit. We will see. I would wait until the end of next season before deciding on what to do with him.

Lazar will get every opportunity to do what he can do to become whatever it is he can next year. He's simply struggling to be an NHLer right now and there's no getting around that and fans have every right to get on him for that.
Better luck next year if he can't show much of anything this year.

It's never going to change. The company name is on that shiny arena, no matter the suckage, they are Leafs of the west.

The 1st line is absolutely feeling it right now. When they play with this kind of poise and finesse they can absolutely carry this team for stretches. Good timing too with all these important conference matches.

He's under contract next year so he'll get his chance to earn something with the big club.

Ferland when he came in was an energy player who hit hard, drove some pace and who had flashes of skill
Lazar has absolutely none of these qualities

At least Lazar is playing a pretty responsible game. He's not having any success scoring, but it's not too late I guess. We'll see what kind of patience Treliving is ready to grant him.

Didn't notice that the slashing coincidental were preceded by a Tkachuk sneaky bump backwards.

Strange by Hamonic. I get that he got hit in the face but why did he just coast around like that when the play was in the Flames' zone?
