I haven’t followed the show thread all the way, but what is going on between games and the first party?

Beyond going to practices I don’t think there is anything formally planned...though there might be some surprises...worth coming Saturday to find out!

There is the event at Craft on the afternoon of the 18th to watch the Vegas game and tentative plans to meet somewhere for the 19th away game. He’s been to a Banff etc before but perhaps that’s an idea for the day of the 19th.

I’m sure if anyone wanted to do something during the weekdays that would be appreciated as I think Aeneas is working.

Just making sure people are letting Aeneas know if they are coming tomorrow evening. From the sounds of it he's going to have a bunch of great food and Czech/Slovak beers. Should be a great event and we will be doing something special for CB so you don't want to miss that.

It was a successful first evening. After an epic journey to the airport thanks to the insanity on Deerfoot Aeneas collected CB. CB left me a message from the airport stating in all the airports he's been in only in Calgary are there people welcoming him and asking if he needed help. The white hats were in full force and made their impression. Good job YYC!

One thing I forgot was the in person intensity CB brings to a game. He sits leaning forward barely taking his eyes off the game. A couple of times we made comments and they went unheard. It could have been part jetlag and part thinking in Czech but it was something I was reminded of from his last trip.

This afternoon I believe they are off to Aeneas' son's hockey game. The son is a right shot Dman. Future draft pick in 10 years or so. We talked draft briefly yesterday and he said if he's drafted by The Greasers or Ducks he's not signing. He'll pull a Lindros. Smart kid.

Hope to see everyone this evening.

Very exciting game, too close for me.
Calgaryboy thought it was very fast and skilled.

My guy had some early bobbles then was solid rest of game. Makes sure passes, plays defence first.

We are getting the food ready now, will try not to start drinking beer until at least half the food is ready.

Just wanted to give a shout out to Aeneas, FurnaceFace, BC-Chris (like, wow, dude. Seriously) and all the other CP alumni that could come out and make Petr’s welcome party a great success. (Oh god, the food!)

Anna and I had a great time, and it was fantastic to put faces to the names (and to thank Gaskal in person for his awesome work on the ATL reports!)

Looking forward to the next get together.
