I feel like the guy who runs that Hockey Authentic site is gonna show up for work this morning and laugh when he finds like 50 Jagr retro jersey orders in their queue.

Another great example of a proficient GM.
Likely kicked the tires with Jagr earlier and explained the Bennett deal needed to get done. Probably looked in again after that but the dollars were more than he wanted to spend, plus he wanted to see what his young players and hopefully a rejuvenated Brouwer could do in camp.
Gets to camp and none of the young players look NHL ready, Brouwer is quicker, but still not ready to be an impact winger. Then he sees Bennett looks really ready and has to add to make sure another Bennett season isn't wasted.
Goes back to Jagr who still doesn't have an NHL home, and now the dollars make more sense to both sides.
You have to have a view and stick to it, don't sign players out of fear of not getting them .

Not to mention.. Jagr was in the building for Bennett's 4 goal game against Florida.
He's probably excited to play on Bennetts wing as well
