Yup, his rebound control is reminding me of our Kipper days.

The TBB line looked so good again! They have to give Matt 9 games minimum.

Thanks for the vid.

Must have been some pretty good advanced stats or Corsi or whatever you call it.

Shots were 37-22 for Calgary plus Arizona blocked another 20 while Calgary only blocked 5.

57-27 for Calgary with shots directed towards the net.

Hopefully it's a sign of a better puck possession system.

The benefits of having a goalie that's not a sieve. The team is able to make the proper plays. Also benefited by the new strategy of standing the opposition up at the blueline so zone entry is much more difficult. Just so much more strategy to our zone play now.

I agree with your point overall, but Calgary also had 8 powerplays to Arizona's 2

Yeah, I saw that too. Definitely an advantage when it comes to the shot disparity, but drawing that many PP's maybe also a sign of better puck possession?

I tend to think that this may be why as well. The TBB line and the Backlund - Frolik line sure looked like they were in complete control from what I saw. They forced the other team to take penalties.

Score-adjusted 5v5 corsi was 57.7% - so yes, the Flames carried the play at 5-on-5 although not to the lopsided extent the special teams make it sound like. Also may be misleading what with that being the Coyotes' B Squad.

Really can't judge until we start hitting regular season games.
