I used the nhl.com Flames board for a while before but it kind of sucked. Was looking for alternatives around the 2011 draft and found this board. Was called a Nazi for being from Austria on the very first day, but was also told to ignore that because it was written in green. Fun times.

Screw the flames, I was here for the Random Thoughts Thread V1-3, or maybe that was only the first two. I can't remember

So I could post once every six months, get chirped from someone about it then mumble to myself about how I'm right and every other Flames fan is wrong.

I actually became more interested in the Flames after they traded Iginla in 2013. I was looking for more thought about what they could do to rebuild and found CP. I lurked for a couple months, joined, and have been hooked since. Lots of great discussion and thoughts on a bunch of topics not just the Flames.

I've been lurking here for about five years before I signed up. It's a great place to get all the latest information on the Flames.

I joined because I was an over-the-top Apple fanboy and was told the CP Tech section was overflowing with like-minded individuals.

Remember the first Heckle? CP was half in the bag. We won the first faceoff back to him, he skated through the entire oilfan team, put one in, then gave them the "I can pretty much do that whenever I want" look. Good times.

Started lurking around the Phaneuf trade and joined a while after for whatever reason.

Started to lose interest until....Wannamaker!

From then on I was hooked.

I don't mean to sound creepy here, but it was the Sportsnet forum in the early 2000s. I remember you from there.

I can't remember if I came here because the official Flames board got shut down after nipple-gate (shirts off for Kiprusoff!), or if it was because I believed I had the solution to the NHL lockout, but just needed to get the word out (seriously... I emailed my ideas to Gary Bettman). Could have been both.

My username was scrundel on the Sportsnet and official Flames forum in the early 2000s.

I don't have TV so the only solace in my 28 hour day is CP in between entertaining a 1, 2 and 4 year old

Plus growing up in oil country it makes it even more of a treat to interact with fellow Flames faithfull and although I may be newish to the site I appreciate it as much as any other, Go Flames!

There are other forums on the internet ?

After several failed attempts to join other boards and failing to find a "community" I gave up on message boards. I just couldn't take the mass of bullcrap that went on.
I happened upon CP , and lurked for a long time. Found that even though there was some trolling going on that it wasn't encouraged like in other places. and rarely got "out of control"

I've always found the balance of information/humour/honest conversation that goes on here to be refreshing.
Between Sureloss, Gaskals' brilliant OOT reports , and the myriad of reports from people in the ever moving home of our AHL team , Not to mention scouring of the internet by other members . I never have to go far to find a good read.

oh and E=NG
Thanks all
