Roger Millions should really quit all social media. He's not an insider and is not worth following on any platform. He sounds like your regular fan and his sources are just as bad.

Treliving is trying to get them on the best deals possible. If that means it takes the entire off-season, so be it.

If history has shown us anything, it's that Roger Millions has zero insider knowledge when it comes to player signings. He also tends to fall on the pessimistic side of things when he makes predictions.

You need to stop doing this Rog, unless you have something to back it up.

People will be people I guess. Roger was asked a question and have an answer. He said it was a gut feeling on a reddit. He didn't claim to have inside knowledge, didn't say he had sources that said anything. I'm glad he's as frank as he is

I thought it was an interesting AMA and he was kind enough to answer fan questions. He seems very humble and grateful to be in the position he is. I don't understand the hate on him. It was nice to hear his insights on the character of the players, coaches, and other staff he knows well.
Regarding Johnny and Sean, he was very careful to couch his words as speculation. He was also very frank about rumours that he knew nothing about.
But sure, lets cut off any sources of Calgary Flames info (even if it is not amazingly 'insider' - aside from McKenzie is there really that many?), and just speculate amongst ourselves about line combos for this season. I for one welcome ANY Flames info in the off-season.

Must have missed where he said it was a gut feeling. Can you post that quote please because the quote I read was him speculating and you're right he didn't say he had sources but a guy like Roger shouldn't speculate on baseless thoughts.

"well could be a little of both and perhaps I am simply wrong. Its just he is a long way from home...He enjoys Philly and Boston where he is going to BC right now to complete his schooling...Its tough to move to another country so far away at such a young age. Who knows..just wonder if in the big picture he may be a little hesitant to commit for a lot of years...could be wrong"

So where does he say it's a gut feeling? He is supposed to be a professional and he's employed by SN.
He is speculating like he's a nobody on a message board. He has a job with the Flames broadcaster and you think this speculation is ok? Especially when there is absolutely nothing to base it off? And to do it on a AMA on Reddit is ridiculous.
He pretty much is 3 years late with his fears about Gaudreau not wanting to play in Calgary.

Actually Roger said nothing of usefulness as usual. Follow his tweets and you'll know it's a regular occurrence.
He is constantly wrong about the Flames and even recently said Colborne would be heading into arbitration AFTER the Flames chose not to qualify him. He is not a very knowledgable guy hockey wise and continues to prove it. So has nothing to do with him saying something I don't like but when you're a professional you don't spill your guts about your baseless thoughts.

I was able to spend a lot of time around the local media at development camp. Roger isn't the only media person connected to the Flames that had concerns about Johnny's commitment to being here long term. The general consensus amongst those I spoke with was that Monahan would be happy to be here for a long time whereas Gaudreau really longs to be back east.
This is probably much ado about nothing given that it is the dog days of the summer offseason and #13 will sign an 8 year deal tomorrow. I was still surprised at the amount of speculation by people with ties to the team that Gaudreau would like to play closer to home and that he would like that to be sooner rather than later.

Help, save, whatever.
|
Maybe the Leafs and Flames are working out some kind of trade with Matthews and Gaudreau/Monahan. Probably just hammering out the details. I'm sure we will hear about it all soon. Toronto is pretty close to Boston so I'm sure Gaudreau will be happy here.

Ive always had a feeling, notwithstanding all the positive comments from Johnny and his parents about Calgary, that there was a true desire to play closer to home, on the east coast in a US city.
Johnny to NJ for Hall as a starting point for negotiations?

I mean to be honest who wouldn't want to play closer to home? I'm sure most players would want to but most don't.

If there wasn't a vast history of Roger Millions insider knowledge and "gut" feelings being so consistently off base people wouldn't react this way.
If someone here started archiving all his misses it would be staggering. Even the small stuff like tweeting out an incorrect pronunciation of Nakladal after the correct one had been established.

If even remotely true, it's probably nothing that sixty some odd million dollars, a nice little local lady and a couple long runs into the playoffs with young guys you've developed and became good friends with can't cure.
