Gibbon's reasoning was that with groundball specialist Stroman pitching they are anticipating a heavy workload at 3B so being extra cautious, any other starter and Donaldson would be out there.

Yep, there should be a time limit. Not have the manager stand on the edge of the dugout waiting for someone to give him the nod or not. Getting a little out of hand.
