I feel for the guy because he gets tough defensive assignments fairly often, or else he gets terrible linemates and has to cover for them. So he takes penalties.
I do agree his shelf life is pretty much gone, at least here. I think he's a pretty good expansion team pickup. They'd get a faceoff guy, who knows the game and who'd provide some decent leadership (the guy's seen a lot of life in his career). And he'd help them reach the cap floor.

It is a gimmick, but after what Edmonton has done (and continue to do) you can't blame them for trying something different.

You can blame them for implementing the wrong solution though. 50% is as low as the odds should have gone for the last place team imo.
