I'll try not to get too excited over this, but the potential for Panarin 2.0 is pretty tantalizing. Or even Hertl.

For free.

I wonder what his cap hit would be.

Will this be like the Jokinen-Cervenka situation? Sign Pribyl and then trade the rights for Colborne? I hope they keep Colborne in the mix. At least he's not a UFA like Jokinen was.

Jokinen was the very best UFA forward available that year. He signed a 2 year 4.5M/deal that the Flames, perennially close to the CAP, could not think of matching. Cervenka was a Hail Mary pass by the Feaster management team to hang onto their jobs for one more year. When that obviously didn't work they offer sheeted RoR....

If the Flames management trade Colborne (for a pick or prospect) before they find out how Pribyl fits in then they should be let go immediately.

Pree-Bill? Pribble? Wheres Calgaryboy? We need a certified Chechian ruling on this.

Almost certainly a maximum ELC contract for the base salary ($925,000 including a $92,500 signing bonus), with some bonus money available. If there was a bidding war, it will probably be maximum bonus potential as well.

I'm no expert, but my understanding is it's pronounced Pribble. Rhymes with dribble.

Based on the Czech announcers here:
http://www.hokej.cz/zapas/2506770/video/sestrih

Sounds closer to Preh-beal or even Pra-beal.

Is this deal done yet?

NHL is dead to me until the draft. I would love to get some Flames news.

April 18 Game 3
April 19 Game 4
April 22 Game 5
April 24 Game 6 *
April 26 Game 7 *

* if necesscary.

As he needs surgery for his right knee he won't be on the Czech World Championship team.

Unlike Cervenka, Wolf, and Nakladal who signed 1 year ELCs; Pribyl is required to sign a 2 year ELC per the CBA as a 23 year old.

His Sparta Praha team won 4-1, so are now 2-1 up in the series. Earliest the series and the season can end is Friday. Therefore, don't expect any news update until the weekend, maybe even the early part of next week should the series go to 6 or 7 games.

It looks like the deal will be done, also Czech media informs about it...http://www.ceskenoviny.cz/zpravy/pri...algary/1339761

As for the pronounciation, you will never be able to pronounce it right, because there is ř in his name, Czech speciality, only Czech can pronounce it right, too hard for anybody else. So for you it will be like Pribil.

I donīt know what kind of player can he become for Flames.....I don īt follow Czech extraleague last 5 years at all, totally lost interest...So that is why I did not see him in action too often.......

The only thing I know is, that he will need to be as humble and patient as Nakladal was, not crying baby like Cervenka was. I cannot stand Cervenka since his stay with CGY.

So we will see guys, interesting for me too, too bad Pribyl is now injured, if he was not, I would watch these Czech finals.

Greetings from Czech republic and GO FLAMES!!!!!!!

Just heard it! I'll stick with a probably very poor attempt with Pri-bihl.

I heard the Calgary Flames, Montreal Canadiens (team that drafted him), and Roman Cervenka all mentioned.

Yeah, you heard it right....Montreal that drafted him and I talked about him being 2nd in Czech extraleague behind Cervenka, who played for Flames too, that was the end of this info. :-)
