The good news is we have Stroman on the mound tomorrow and the Jays are due for an offensive blowout so I feel good about tomorrow's game.

yeah but they wore him out
tomorrow is a big game too
if they don't have anyone that they think can go an inning with a 3 run lead, then they know they're done anyway

Good news is the Stroshow is pitching tomorrow. Here's hoping he builds up on that Boston start last week!

Tomorrow's game is massive. Going up 3.5 games with only 10 to play pretty much seals up the division pretty easily. Jays can go .500 and take the division. Losing and they are only up 1.5 games and its a dog fight.
After the poor offense showing and chances wasted the first two games, it's unacceptable if the Jays don't hammer Nova early and often. You can't squander hitting off a pitcher like that in a big game.

Winning the division is a must. If this whole season came down to a wildcard game, even if it's going to be played in Toronto, that's not good for a city/fanbase that's witnessed chokejobs by other sports teams in the city (Raptors and Laffs') recently. Gotta' win that AL East pennant this year. That's the best case scenario for this Blue Jays ballclub this season.

Plus, you use your best pitcher just getting into the actual playoffs, then you have to travel and immediately start a short series, on the road, without your best pitcher for the first couple at least
Or, you lose and you're done

I really don't understand how Gibson can continue to roll Smoak out there. He's absolute garbage at the plate. Basically a guaranteed K. Not sure what he's thinking. His decisions as a manager this series as a whole should be enough that we don't have to see him again next year regardless of the outcome of the season. A peewee coach could coach a collection of all-stars like the Jays and get similar results to Gibby.

You are aware that the dude has had an RBI in each of the first 2 games in this series, right? Smoak is exactly as advertised, if not better. He's a low average hitter who hits the ball hard and plays great defense.
Should Gibbons stop rolling Donaldson out there? He's been striking out more than Smoak lately. Who's Gibson, btw?

EE is 10/31 over his last 7 games, with 6 hits (including 2 home runs) in just the last 4. How is he in a funk?
Donaldson will work it out, hopefully he lights up off Nova tonight.

Yeah, Smoak is not the greatest bat, but the Jays have tons of those and he's been a stellar 1st baseman. No problem at all with him playing regular.
Hopefully Donaldson comes out of his funk just in time to tear opposing pitching apart during the playoffs.
I wonder if he has a bit of an injury though. I still remember him rolling over his wrist in that rainy second game of the double header in NY, and his slump seemed to start right about then too.

despite not scoring in the first they burned 23 pitches by Nova. That's always good.

Over 40 pitches now. Even though they haven't plated anyone, they are making him work.

Man these hits a couple feet either way and the Jays have the lead. Incredibly annoying.

They'll put up some runs sooner or later, getting guys on base and hitting the ball hard. Just haven't had much luck yet. I'm guessing they break it open next inning.

exactly, the two line drives to CF if they were a bit shorter or Revere's liner to 1st was a foot higher. Just a matter of bad luck at the moment. that will correct itself.

70+ pitches in 4 innings. Probably won't reach the end of the 6th.
