i'd like the playersafety group to look at Richardson's MMA style elbow to the downed Stajan. Not a punch, deliberate blow to the head by an elbow.

I'm sorry, if England ends up with a 3 game suspension, and I'm Treliving/Burke, I'm calling up the pluggiest of plugs, and am making sure there is a Canuck with a knee injury. Normally I don't condone that crap, but when you have a team, double teaming a guy in a fight, and punching a guy in the face thats on the ground, I'm taking matters into my own hands.

Game three, I'm telling Ferland and Bollig to hit every single thing that moves, even skate down the hall and hit the Canucks trainer.

I think player safety should look at Stajan's eye and then look at what richardson did to him when he was on the ice on his back. Ridiculous.

Man's man work there by Engelland with the original fight, then ragdolling Dorsett and Hamhuis. Dorsett catches his breath and wipes the piss off his leg and suckers Engelland again, who takes the shot to the face without blinking.
And the dirty ground and pound on Stajan. So much for the code. All the whole Bollig and Ferland are held back.

It's on.

Refs need to be held accountable for their inabilty to control the situation at the end there, heck they inflamed it through their stupidity/inability to manage the players .

Especially if the NHL changes their "rulings" it will show the refs had no ####ing clue what they are doing out there. They simply lost control of the game at the end there, and you just cant have that as a ref, they need to be unequivocally in charge and respected and I'm not sure how they get back to that after this.

They were so concerned with tying up flames players they pretty much helped the canucks fight dirty by making the # of combatants uneven during most of the melee. I'm sure they didn't do it on purpose, probably just incompetence but it still needs to be dealt with just the same. They caused/let the 2 on 1 n Engelland and the Stajan attack happen because they were more concerned with restraining flames players and letting the cowards do whatever they wanted... they allowed the game to devolve into a bush league WWE sideshow and then they completely botched the penalties to boot.

Might as well call up ECHL refs instead if this is the standard they're going to hold themselves to. I very seldom complain about officiating but these guys have lost the legitimacy to ref the rest of this series. Just an embarrassing display, really hope the NHL doesn't sweep this garbage under the rug.

LOL @ the people suggesting to bring McGrattan... all the Canucks have to do is avoid Big Ern like cowards next game and will only bring a disadvantage for the Flames.

Yikes. If NHL for some reason calls it like the officials on the ice saw it, then that's pretty much giving the Canucks the series. Can't see Wideman , Russell and Brodie playing over 35+ minutes a game for 3 straight games.

Hughson was all right, only talked about the Canucks 30% of the time.

And 30% Sedins, 30% Lack...

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
Once refs/series supervisor/ @NHLPlayerSafety confer/confirm calls, we'll have an idea on possible suspensions. Online summary not official.

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
For example, IF Engelland's instigator in final 5 minutes sticks, that's a one game suspension for him and $10K fine for Hartley.

Hartley and Treliving should be parading him out in post game press conferences and asking if its ok to keep punching a player in a defenseless position.

In the dressing room you give his number to Ferland and tell him to keep punching til he sees hamburger.

Man this isn't me but I'm completely livid right now. I think I need to go to the gym, thank god its a 24 hour gym

Wait a second, now NHL.com has THREE game misconducts on Engelland. Haha, confirms clerical error.

Yeah that was pretty obvious. What a Canuck to begin with, but then to pull that is even more gutless than usual.

To start the game. Second part is proving Tortarella correct, and have them actually beat the tar out of the Sedins and "Burr".
