Freaking Minnesota is all over the puck so far in this game. It seems like the Flames just cannot make some play.

I really wish they'd change the default call on close races to be to waive it off rather than defaulting to calling the icing.

Hartley needs to give Schlemko/Diaz some more minutes. Russell and especially Wideman are fatigued.

Flames just need a couple of good scoring opportunities.

Those close races often result in crashes

Have to give the Wild credit. There is no opening to even make a play. They shut down everything before it can even begin. Very aggressive, and it should bite them in the ass more often, but they cover so well for each other.

Good shift, lots of shots and rebound out into the slot off Dubnyk.

I have no idea what they see in practice, but I wonder if it's not worth subbing in Potter and whomever, in addition to more minutes for the bottom 2 pairings.
As I mentioned in another thread, defensive stability and consistency has been questionable over the last handful of games.

So far it's Ramo and the 3rd and 4th lines for Calgary. That's it.

Very akin to how St.Louis plays against the Flames positionally. they also collapse very well after the Flames make a shot making sure any rebounds are hell to get a shot off of.

As predicted, the Flames not going out and getting a good 4-5 guy at the deadline has really put this D behind the 8 ball
