Especially considering the score. Down by 2 with 20 minutes to go? When has that been an issue for the Flames?
You'd think it was 10-0 at this point.

This is my first time watching a Flames game this year and they don't look great. But you guys could still easily win this. Depends on which Leaf team shows up for the third. The Leafs always struggle in the 3rd.

That's definitely not the first period they've looked like a lottery team. Every team has those periods. Calgary was the better team in the first. There's always ebbs and flows. Neither is truly indicative of where a team is at. As a hockey team you may hope you have less ebbs and more flows

I hope the Flames simplify their game a bit if the ice is as dreadful and the announcers say it is. Direct pucks at the net with traffic in front. A couple of goals off skates or butts are what we need.

Who said they're done? They just look really off tonight, that's all. The miracle comebacks seem to have ceased, and it looks like it's just not in the cards tonight.

IMO - probably the worst period of hockey the Flames have played all year. Wouldn't base any presumptions about their play on this game - so far. Hopefully the third period is better - typically their best.

Norm!

Flames have to fight harder to get through the hooking and holding by the Leafs, they play like a dead puck era team.
you won't draw penalties unless you work hard.
Everyone seems a bit off.
Hopefully they'll bounce back here in the third.

The only concerning thing right now for me is that there is a real tough stretch of games coming up here. Flames need to stay afloat through it. I certainly didn't expect a walk in the park tonight as Berniers been red hot. But outside of the Jooris line, not much compete out there. Credit to the Leafs though. They've obviously watched a lot of tape and came prepared.
Hopefully the third period is what it usually has been.

I haven't seen every game. I think I've had good luck with the games I have seen. Of course you're right though. Pretty much dominated the first, piss poor the second, hope for better in the third.

Couldn't agree more, Canadiens have lost 3 of the last 3 games and 5 of the last seven. Nobody is counting them out.
