This is totally a Sportsnet thing and not a Shaw or Telus thing.
Last night I was watching the game on NHL Gamecenter from here in Taiwan and I couldn't believe how quiet the dome was. Switched to the Coyotes feed and the crowd sounded fine.
Just opened it up now and watched the Doan goal on both feeds, the audio on the Sportsnet feed was completely off, not so on the Fox feed.
The problem is Sportsnet, not Telus or Shaw.

If we're going to spam email telus, Shaw, sportsnet, etc. we should also include someone high up on the Flames as well. I think the Flames are probably the biggest stakeholder in all of this. If enough people complain maybe they can put pressure on Sportsnet to get things changed up or else they'll take their money elsewhere when it comes time to renew the broadcasting contract.

The low crowd noise thing is just as puzzling as the audio sync issue. Why would you want your game to sound like it's being played in a quieter arena? It makes zero sense. If anything, you'd want to turn up the crowd-noise to boost the atmosphere of your broadcast so people feel engaged with your product.
And I'm no audio engineer, but shouldn't it be relatively easy to properly mix the audio to get a better balance, considering it's the same venue and product over and over? If I can play around with the equalizer in iTunes to get a better sound, surely a professional outfit like Sportsnet has that ability?

Maybe it would help to record clips of the offending sync fails and showing the time between the PBP audio calling the goal and the video of the goal occurring. I think it would lend a bit of credibility by providing some facts to SNET and whatever Twitter followers. Do Rick Ball and Kelly Hrudey even know there is a problem?

There were audio problems on the Toronto game tonight when they lost audio during the American anthem, and then the commentators came in partway through the anthem with "Test one two three, Zip-a-dee-doo-dah" and then began a conversation about the Hall-of-Fame talent on the ice.
Right in the middle of the anthem.
Now that it's happened in Toronto, something might get done.

The delay seems to show up in highlights as well. I was watching last night's highlights on the Flames site (direct link: http://video.flames.nhl.com/videocen...671623&lang=en). Seek ahead to about 0.59 or so for Doan's goal that went off of the post and in.
I'm not even exaggerating - you can hear the ping of the post BEFORE the puck even leaves his stick.
Edit: I now see that getbak pointed this out many, many hours ago now.

Once had a roommate that was taking the broadcast program at SAIT. He constantly joked how working the Flames Sportsnet games was the typically the last desired choice for internship work and those that went were bottom of the barrel.
Still holds true apparently?

The Vancouver game today had that Sportsnet 'muted crowd noise' thing going on as well, particularly compared to the Fox feed.
Maybe the Fox guys have just really figured our their sports broadcasts, but man, Sportsnet has a long way to go to catch up.

Sportsnet did a bit about Johnny hockey on their pre game show with PJ Stock. It was pathetic. No substance at all. Why do they even bother?

Early on this season I didn't have the out of sync issue. But it's come back the last few games . Super annoying.

Because it's on CBC. The only time the audio seems to be an issue for me is when the game is on SN Flames.

It's a national game on CBC, not a regional game on SN.
