I've always been impressed with Backlund's ability to get an accurate shot off in traffic, however I think he could get a bit more zip and power into his wrister.

I didn't have an opportunity to post the four that were released yesterday on here. It was a busy day on my end and I couldn't find time unfortunately. Today, all 7 of the defenders of note are up. I combined Brett Kulak and Ryan Culkin's articles into a slightly bigger one because there is too much overlap in their games, and it would be boring to read most of the same stuff twice.
Huggins, Zejdl, Bailey, and Leedahl will round out my reviews, which I'll post on Wednesday.
Thanks for reading.
Also, the next episode of our podcast should be out soon (either today or tomorrow) and we have several short interviews with a bunch of the flames prospects.

I get the impression from those assessments that you would rank the D prospects from camp as follows:
Sieloff
Kulak
Culkin
Hickey
Fram
Gilmour
Roy
Is that correct?

Yes, but there are two pairs that are very close overall that I'd call them a draw.
Sieloff
Kulak
.
Culkin and Hickey
.
.
Fram and Gilmour
.
.
.
Roy

I'd say that looks promising. Sieloff especially... Really glad to see him healthy & looking like a player. He's our only D prospect who plays with a big of an edge. I hope he makes the team.
I thought Gilmour looked excellent in the 4-on-4 scrimmage last week. Much better than Culkin, in my opinion. His passing was outstanding and I thought he was agile and quick on his feet... Maybe it was just a flattering camera angle on the live stream?
Kulak/Culkin/Hickey/Gilmour are definitely in that T.J. Brodie mold. Obviously there's an organisational impetus to build around that type of player. Is this the type of defenceman that wins you championships these days? Part of me wishes we had a couple more Sieloffs...
If Roy converted to forward who would he be comparable? I slightly more skilled but less aggressive Ferland?

^^^^Only if he comes disciplined and doesn't take ######y selfish penalties like we have seen all over you tube.
A player like this can be useful unless he becomes Matt Cooke
Hopefully he will be set to "stun" most of the time

If Wolf becomes a Matt Cooke type of player without the cheap shots then I wouldn't mind it at all. Cooke as a player isn't too bad until he shows his inner canuck. If Wolf can be the guy who can chip in a few goals, play physical and throw the other team off their game I think he could be a great addition to the team. I just hope he keeps the cheap shots out of the game.

It sounds like Sieloff was great all camp. Maybe even an offensive threat.
Can anyone who watched him in Windsor explain why he scored so few points two years ago?

Has anyone found some post-Development Camp updated statistics (height and weight) on the attendees? The Flames site is still showing last year's info.

I only watched him play for Windsor a few times, but i can say with a good degree of certainty that he will never post great offensive numbers at any level simply because that is not his game. He is very athletic, skates well (although he's no burner), and is very adept at making a good first pass. He is very physical and mean, although he may have to temper that side of his game slightly at the NHL level due to his size. Simply put, his ceiling will be that of a defensive D-man, which is not a bad thing. He kind of reminds me of Barrett Jackman-the modern day version.

Realistically Baertschi should be heading into his first season where he has a realistic chance of making the big team, but apparently Feaster knew best. He needs to be a top 9 player and he just wasn't ready for that and there clearly wasn't room this year, especially with Monahan and Colborne making the team (numbers game). It didn't help that Troy Ward had some pretty unrealistic expectations of him when he went down too, after struggling so mightily with the flames. Pretty much set him up to fail. I remember being pretty surprised, thinking maybe he was joking, especially how he said it right to the press (his expectations). Then he puts him on the right side, where he wasn't comfortable. At least put him in his natural position if you want 10 shots a game. Really the whole season for him was a write off thanks to managerial bungling. Even last season after the lockout was mishandled. He should've stayed in the AHL all season, there was absolutely no reason to try to squeeze him on the roster as the 12th/13th forward.
