also City now punished for not pushing for a 4th goal vs Bayern

ya Wenger played for the draw and once Napoli scored it was lost but its still bad luck so to say by getting Bayern this year, and Barca twice in the 3 years past

And United get the sweetheart draw. I wonder what Moyes had to do to get Olympiacos. Platini will be walking around with a smile on his face all week.

I honestly didn't care who they'd draw, no possible opponent would have been a horrible draw. Zenit is unbelievably poor for all the money they spend, they just got destroyed by Austria freakin Vienna ... Schalke wouldn't have been difficult either - United just manhandled Leverkusen twice and Schalke is even worse than them. Milan and Galatasaray would have been a bit uncomfortable though.

I wanted Schalke, but I'll take Olympiacos ... especially after who United had to play in last year's last 16 round and how undeservedly they crashed out. Beating Olympiacos is must. If they then crash out with dignity in the quarterfinals, it's all good, given the season they are having. Can't ask for more than that in a season like that.

Either Guardiola thinks he can roll on with a 'take no prisoners' attitude or hes crazy.

Hes playing Bayern's normal starting XI against Guangzhou Evergrande.

I guess hes really looking forward to the winter break to rest some players.

Guangzhou were holding their own in the first half until Ribery scored. Then the floodgates opened.
Guangzhou are coached by Marcello Lippi who still looks like a mafia boss.

I don't think Dante was playing.

I think Dante's ass is going to be stapled to the bench for a bit after serving up two goals to City.

Alaba was absolutely robbed from the World XI. Plus Lahm was named as a LB, a position he hasn't played in years for Bayern

Speaking of the Barca love-in, it seems as though they're in more hot legal water.

Quote:
Barcelona say a Spanish court investigation into Neymar’s transfer from Santos last summer is unjustified and should be immediately dismissed.

The Catalan club has issued a strongly worded statement demanding the "unnecessary" investigation be stopped, while suggesting that it is being unfairly targeted by the prosecuting judge.

Barca’s claim that just 57 million euros was paid has been challenged by Cases, and other observers, who say that various add-ons mean the total outlay is as much as 74 million euros. It is also alleged that 40 million euros of the fee went to Neymar and his family as a "signing bonus," which has led to legal action being taken by third-party investors in Brazil who feel they have been cut out of the deal.

The lady doth protest too much, methinks...

Messi just looks like a weirdo. Everyone wore standard tuxes or black suits while Messi looks like he just wandered in from a neighbouring circus.

Sandro Rosell's resignation as Barcelona president on Thursday evening, amid a court investigation into the “misappropriation” of millions of euros during Neymar's transfer to the club last summer, unsurprisingly dominated the Spanish and Catalan press on Friday morning.

the Spanish judge investigating the possible “diversion” of monies in the transfer -- would like answered: “How much did Neymar cost? In what form? How much was the transfer, how much was for the player, for his father? How much remains in a grey area where other hands can pilfer it? These are the doubts and [Rosell] did not enter into any of them.”

El Pais’ long-serving Barca correspondent Ramon Besa mused on the irony that by doing “everything” to sign Neymar, in what was supposed to be the crowning achievement of his regime, Rosell had actually brought about his downfall.

What an Idiot.

Philip Lahm. What else is there to say?
