Aw, I love this stuff . . . .
Something interesting. I don't think this is a spoiler . . . more like zealous speculation by freaked out fans of the show.
Remember season two when Helo and Starbuck stop off at her apartment on Caprica . . . . . some swift guy on the Sci-fi Battlestar board posted this link which is setting the eggheads all abuzz over there:
http://forums.scifi.com/index.php?ac...e=post&id=1245
It's the same design they found in the temple on the Algae Planet . . . on Starbuck's wall from a season ago.
Coincidence or continuity?
Katee Sackhoff, for the scene in season 2, was allowed to paint the wall - that of a disturbed personality - herself. Did the writers bring the image back for continuity in the storyline later on?
Tyrol knew about the image from his father so I guess its possible everyone in the 12 colonies knows about it . . . . . and therefore its no big deal.
Or its just a coincidence exposed by an overly zealous message board poster.
Or it means something about Starbuck's destiny.

How can you not, its rare that you find a show like this with solid writing. Considering how easy it is to take a good concept and drive it into the wall (Buffy after season 5, Galactica 1980)
The human race seems to be fairly religeous throughout this show and it seems to dominate them. We see it in the way that they deal with each other, the way that the President had that priest with her constantly in the first season. And the way that the people so eagerly took to the crusade of finding earth. In our society its likely that there would have been a sizable fraction that said screw finding earth, lets find the nearest porn palace and set up tents by the door. So to me, its likely that Starbuck painted that pattern on the wall due to being exposed heavily by a relative or a friend or Sunday School. You could argue that she is predestined to her being the one that grabbed the arrow of apollo, and it matches up to her wall paintings. But I think it might be a false flag to get us thinking that she's pre-destined. Just like Roslin was suppossed to be pre-destined to die before reaching earth (which could still happens, when they land in Alabama and she gets shot by a suspicious red neck)
Now if you go by whats happening now, and Starbuck is shot down and wandering in the wilderness, is she going to stumble onto the real artifact, or key that allows them to use the eye of jupiter?
Most religeous icons have to go through a period of great suffering before they earn thier stripes, so if Starbuck is indeed a savior or a messiah then this is all following a formula thats been laid out in every text based around religion that we've ever seen.

^ One great thing about the Internet is that no matter how nerdy you feel about really liking a sci-fi show, there's always someone that will make your nerdiness pale in comparisson
(the original poster, not cowperson, for the record).

For anyone interested, a non-spoiler interview with Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonnell from a week ago. Primarily on the craft of acting it would seem.

Battlestar Galactica returns to Space at 8 p.m. Calgary time on Sunday, January 21.
The poster "MASK" in this thread at the Space messageboard is an executive at Space . . . the program guy I believe:
http://forums.spacecast.com/forums/thread/291827.aspx
That means it will air, for the first time, at the same time as it does in America.

Ah yes, Racetrack - the only reason being forced to watch Godiva's was bareable. Leah Cairns - the red head manager was good to.

A two hour Battlestar Galactica telefilm might be shot in March to bridge the gap between seasons three and four . . . . the film would go straight to DVD.
A link
http://www.cinemablend.com/televisio...orks-2151.html
And another link which intimates the telefilm might be a lead-in to the new Caprica tv series.
http://forums.scifi.com/index.php?showtopic=2259558
Interesting that there will be a new Babylon 5 movie as well.

Another spoiler-ridden interview with David Eick and Ron Moore on the second half of Season three appearing in yesterday's Chicago Tribune.
EDIT: Actually, David Eick and Ron Moore are really screwing with your head in this one . . . and having fun doing so. I'll leave it at that. At the start you'll have thought you've stumbled on the entire plot line but by the end you'll figure out you've actually been told pretty much nothing at all.
Not so spoilerish . . . . the two hour movie to bridge seasons three and four sounds like its moving along, but it will not be made if the show is not renewed for season four. No confirmation yet on a fourth season although Battlestar remains one of the most downloaded shows on the net.

There was a nifty hour long look at season three on the space network tonight at 6:00 and several spoilers were given out. Don't read anymore if you don't want to see them
Spoilers
There will be several major deaths. Starbuck is a possibility
There will be trial by the humans against Baltar
The show probably will only go two more years at a max but could end after season 4

Sounds like they got that stuff from that Chicago Tribune blog . . . . and they might be playing with your mind. Some sharp message board guys have noted Katee Sackoff's name isn't on the show's acting credits later this season.
Battlestar named to the 2006 best television shows of the year by the American Film Institute:
http://www.afi.com/tvevents/afiawards06/tv06.aspx
I think Tricia Helfer is on the cover of Playboy, not just with a photo spread inside.

Its more then likely that they won't kill off Starbuck since she's such a key character, and is most likely in line for redemption. But a character like Heilo, or the Chief could be likely candidates. Hot Dog could die since they haven't done much with him either, but killing him would have some shock appeal. Of course they could kill off Brother Cavill as a character but he plays such a good devil in priests clothing that it would be a real loss to me.
In the Calgary Sun article Tricia gave all kinds of indicators that it was a spread of photo's (no pun intended), but its unlikely that I'm enough of a geek to go to a 7-11 or Mac's to pick up the issue.
Watching the interviews on the show I was talking about, you got an overwhelming sense of pride from the actors about the direction that the show was taking. EJO mentioned that it was his proudest moment as an actor so it sounds like he's forgotten about his Miami Vice days.

I would generally agree . . . . but I wouldn't be surprised to see her disappear for a bit.
The "destiny" part that keeps coming up around her name is interesting, as are the missing ovaries, so I wouldn't be surprised to see her disappear for awhile.
In fact, in those circumstances, you could see her disappear and then re-appear as some kind of fast-growing Cylon clone in the season finale cliffhanger!!! Oh yeah baby!!!
Or one of the missing five . . .
The thing about this show and others like it is that there pretty much has to be a defined ending, that it can't continue forever and that we're likely at the halfway mark if not the 75% mark.
So killing a major character outright at this point can't be dismissed as impossible either.
EDIT: Interesting to see "LOST," another soap opera serial, announcing a defined end date in hopes of retaining its frustrated viewers. Don't be surprised if Galactica does the same:

This is a great, great show. I saw it for the first time in December. Ended up watching the entire series up to now in two weeks over the holidays. Very addictive!
Can't wait for the next episode!

A Toledo Blade article from two days ago discussing whether or not there will be a season 4 of Battlestar Galactica - one potential, very nebulous, spoiler in the third paragraph from the bottom in this story:.
