And Stempniak outrageously popular for a journeyman second line player that has been an integral part of the losing tradition???
Hudler joins the team has a team's worst -13 and it has the worst season ever in the History of the Flames..... Too bad he wasn't locked in for another 8 years.???
And we don't want a proven large D-man in SOB or a scrappy guy like Russell who has been in more fights than the left over d-men (outside of Gio) combined and played on the Canadian WC team..... Cundari and Breen???? Really what are their expectations? and why?
Both Russell and SOB are changes.... but because they are established NHLers not good enough for the Flames Fans....
only Rocky Balboa long shots are what is needed?

Lee Stempniak is on a very good contract and has been putting very nice points up for us on the second line. He's a heart and soul guy, is a great mentor and isn't afraid to throw the body
Jiri Hudler has more skill and creativity than almost any player we've seen play for us in years, he can put the puck in the net and plays a game bigger than you would expect from his size. He has shown to have his head in the game when times are tough, unlike most of the veterans we experienced on this team.
Cammalleri wants out. Enough said.
Shane O'Brien is unfortunately going to be the next whipping boy on defense. Yes he can play a big mean game but we're going to see a lot of bone headed penalties from him. He could surprise us but I'd rather give a young tough D-Man in Breen a shot. We still got veterans in Gio and Wideman to mentor the young guys
Only one player is going to be left in this elimination game, this doesn't reflect the exact line up we want to see today, these are players we are legitimately excited to see play and develop together
