So Hudler, Baertschi and Cammalleri fighting it out for the small LW spot in the top 9.
Is Hudler's 3 year $4M tradeable?
IIRC Hudler played mostly RW, so he gets the small RW spot. Baertschi gets the small LW spot and Cammallari gets whatever is left over, maybe back at centre. We've got options and I think we will be better as long as we have at least one big body on each line.

Now the Flames need to get ris of some dead weight: Cammi, Butler, Jackman, and maybe even GlenX. Get another center and star loading up on a quality right wing. Still think if Iggy came back, that'll fill that position nicely. The two left wingers acquired during the first round draft still puzzles me.

You mean the right winger that has played some left wing but is mainly used on the right? Is that the left winger you are talking about?

Poirier stated that he plays mostly Rw and a little centre. I also believe the purpose of drafting him was to add a player with top flight speed to our system( no one else we have does that). Mark my words, he will open up a lot of space for our forwards breaking out of the zone. And better hands than Lombardi to boot (opinion)

Just curious here, but have you seen him live?
Cammalleri-Lombardi-Iginla was a damn good line, minus Lombo's stone hands.

In this case, I agree. The desire to trade Glencross just because is unthinking stupidity.
Agree completely. I believe he should be a candidate for captain moving forward. I'm also 99% sure he's already told Feaster he will NOT waive his no trade clause, explaining why Feaster never considered any offers for him at the trade deadline. Some ppl really need to just put two and two together, gm's don't just refuse to listen to offers for players like GlenX unless the player is unavailable.

Eh, Lombardi was a good scorer in the Q as well, and put up a couple decent point totals. If Poirier tops out at Matthew Lombardi skill in the NHL, that's actually a pretty decent outcome for him. People except way too much from these kids.

I don't disagree, trading Lombardi + 1st + Prust meant giving up some good pieces. Lombardi had serious wheels before his concussions, not to mention he wouldn't play for Edmonton.

Unfortunately not, but I've been digging up on him as I'm sure most fans have since the draft. Mostly looking for first hand accounts, scouting reports and the like. Of course everyone's seen the highlight reel by now. Honestly this guy has me really excited just cause of the chances and space he can create for his linemates.
And yeah I remember lombo just blazing down the wing as the defence try furiously to back peddle. Loved how he'd either cut to the net if he had a step (always shot five hole) or stop just before the hashmarks and drop it to cammi while iggy crashed the net
I agree Lombardi was good, and helped the team greatly. I felt he could have been a really special play if he had 2 out of 3 for: elite passing, wicked shot, soft hands. Unfortunately in those areas he wasn't blessed, and only ever really average. But it's encouraging that all he had was speed and that's something that can't be taught. Obviously I think Poirier also has this rare gift, hopefully it takes him to the nhl in good time.
Oops I got off topic. Just wanted to say I've had Galiardi on my radar for a very long time. He's a player you'll notice does a lot of the little things that make a BIG difference. Any one think of a good Calgary flames nickname for the new kid yet?
