The house and cameras are already set up so the rest of production would have to be pretty negligible. And it's still fighting for highest watched show on the nights it's shown.

Compare that to something like How I Met Your Mother with 9M viewers and Jason Segel's reported salary of 8M alone.

Syndication rights, reruns, time slot, merchandising etc. all need to be accounted for when comparing it to non-reality shows but I would guess it's bringing in enough cash that it's here for awhile.
The overhead costs for BB are miniscule compared to sitcoms or even other reality shows like Survivor that travel to exotic places or these talent shows that pay the celebrity judges $$$. All the money they make likely goes straight to profit and since Julie Chen is married to CBS President I think it would have to struggle pretty bad to get the axe.

Given that the show is doing pretty well how about finally upgrading to HD cameras as it is 2013 now.

Had my hopes up thinking it was Amanda.

And just in case anyone wasn't aware, GinaMarie's comments about Candice's mom not loving her wasn't just a bad comeback it was meant to be an insult at Candice for being adopted. GinaMarie had been making fun of her saying not even her birth mother loved her this past week.

My guess is that Helen used Aaryn to take out a player that could win the game. No one is going to give money to Spencer, Amanda, etc.

And regarding the cameras, I was thinking about it tonight and it must still be in SD because they use the same cameras to stream - and I imagine that would be expensive to stream all of them in HD. It is annoying that it isn't in HD but if that is the reason I guess it makes sense.

Pretty much because of the MVP twist. Amanda thought it was him, not America, putting her up. Because of that she pretty much told everyone he was a schemer. It wasn't completely untrue, he's been playing Jessie for awhile now and has been involved in discussions of flipping the house. Jessie and Judd got in a fight earlier and I think Helen used all of that as an opportunity to send the hit out on Judd with Amanda's blessing.

Depending on the exact reasoning, could have been a fantastic move by Helen. She gets out a strong player who was closer with McCrae and Amanda but can't be blamed for it because Amanda wanted him out as well. Got to see how much control she had over Aaryn (Judd and her were getting close) and doesn't get any backlash from anyone because even Jessie had a problem with him. Funny enough, it's possible that this was the first strike against Amanda's side by Helen but there's also a possibility she's just playing Amanda's puppet.

I'm interested in seeing the DR. Unfortunately, I fear that Helen will be crying about having to evict Judd because he was a great guy but Amanda said he was playing the whole house. But I'm hoping, for the sake of gameplay, that Helen realizes how much it should help her.

Despite being incredibly annoying and the fact I can't stand her, Helen is by far playing the best game. She is manipulating everyone to get out all the big targets without getting any blood on her hands or becoming a target herself.

Judd would have got a lot of jury votes had he made it to final 2.

It's too bad she's so annoying...otherwise I would be rooting for her.

They could always downsample to SD for the stream. It's not a bandwidth issue.

This season is going to go down as having the dumbest players in quite some time. Amanda and Helen running the house and the other houseguests just doing as they are told by them. I liked McCrae at first, but now he is simply a wimp.

The season started so good when the 3 wenches and their bf's were bullying the rest of the house. Now we see what Big Brother is like when we are left with floaters.

I kind of hope Aaryn wins actually.

Disappointed they didn't back door Amanda. Ah well, only a matter of time. She hasn't won anything so her time is in fact coming. Too bad she's going to be in the jury too. Kind of surprised Judd got the boot.

Totally agree. I don't really understand how most people in this thread seem to hate her because she is "two faced" when in reality that is a very admirable quality to have while playing Big Brother. IMO she is a more annoying, less dramatic, female Dan, and she is one hell of a player. As it sits currently she is only one that deserves to win the game and I hope she does.

Helen and Dan do have some similarities, including their smug, self-satisfied DR sessions. However, Dan was entertaining where Helen is merely aggravating.

I don't think many people are hating on her gameplay. I think most are recognizing that she is a good player and if she keeps this up, will likely be the winner. At least she should be the winner as there really isn't anyone else playing at her level (although I think Arryn is trying to play)

For me Helen's game is being overshadowed by how unbelievably annoying she is. She yells ALL the time, not just in the DR like Dan did. She is fake and insincere with all her "you're the best evr! We all love you so much!" crap and her constant over exuberant celebrations to EVERYTHING just makes me crazy. And then there's the crying, oh god the never ending crying over lord knows what.

I try to watch After Dark some days and I find I have to either mute her conversations or skip right through them. She's a good player for sure, but I would go crazy in that house having to listen to her all the frikkin time.
