That's it, it's just 1 game. In the 1982 series, the Isles outscored the Penguins 15-3 in the first 2 games before heading to Pittsburgh. The Pens tied the series at home. Looking back at the 1993 series between these 2 teams, it was 1-1 heading to Long Island, the Penguins had shut out the Isles and the Isles won a road game by 1 goal. I hope history from 20 years ago repeats itself.
Wake up call for the Pens.
Its now a series, but I still think this is over in 5. Not terribly surprised with the result. The Pens are stacked and they dominated game 1. This should wake them up.
If they struggle in game 3 then I would be worried for the Pens.
Isles oozing with confidence now. Crosby comes back and they still beat the Pens. Should make this a better series than it was looking after game 1.
That's exactly what happened and what was said in the 1993 series. The Pens were stacked with Lemieux, got woken up and the Isles still beat them. Never mind if the Penguins win or lose game 3, worry for them if they get a split on the Island.

I'm confident the Pens will win the series as they just have a phenomenal amount of skill on that team, but between them and the Islanders there is only one team that really looks like they're playing with heart and passion.
I hope the Pens do get their heads and hearts into it as much as the Isles have because watching that amount of skill play with more passion and intensity would be phenomenally impressive and entertaining.

Well that move to claim Nabokov 3 years ago by Snow has really paid off. He got Nabokov on a cheap contract for nothing, and he's given them pretty solid netminding for the most part. He took some heat for the move when he did it, but you can see why he did it now. I still think the Penguins win, but I'm happy to see the Isles win one. Off hand...I think 93 was the last time they got out of the first round, but I would need to verify that.

I'd in bit mistaken, that was also the last playoff victory for them too

Terrible game, but I'm not worried.
Horrible team defense, when it was 3-1 I thought the Pens were going to lose... looked like the Philly series. That's not their game at all this year and they'll be back strong IMO. Seemed like they had a "SIDS BACK, WE'RE FINE!!!" and didn't work as hard on both sides as normal.
IF ENGELLAND PLAYS ANOTHER GAME AS A PENGUIN..........
That guy is terrible, and having him dress over Despres and Bortuzzo is a joke. HOPEFULLY DB finally realized that after his play yesterday.
No one in Pittsburgh ever understands the Fleury hate, he's a good goalie.. last year was a complete team collapse (him included) and ever since every fan base goes LOL FLEURY any bad game (no matter how many good ones inbetween)

I also thought DB panicked too early, and basically abandoned any strategy of rolling their normal lines and starting throwing together super lines and mix-matching for the entire game rather than going with what has been working

Sorry, but Fleury isn't a good goalie relative to NHL goalies. 29th for Save Percentage, 26th for GAA. He plays on a ridiculous team and he's adequate, but he's definitely a weak link for their cup aspirations.

Really? You're going to go with all the 1 game players in there?
http://espn.go.com/nhl/statistics/pl...t/seasontype/2
Of qualified players he's 16 in save % and 15th in GAA
Not great, but I think some people don't realize the wide open style the Pens play and how much they rely on MAF.

Seeing Cooke raise the cup might actually be worth it if it will at least temporarily stop all the hehehehehe's and hahahahaha's from Bertuzzied.

Islanders come out BUZZING. When was the last time these guys have played in front of a home crowd remotely like this? For a lot of them, never. Go Isles!
