some of you aren't die hard enough hockey fans.
I see a McDonald's logo and I think about the Flames.
I hear a song called black and yellow and I think Bruins (I know it should be penguins since that goof is from Pittsburgh and he is talking about the cities colors but they have more of an ugly gold color).
I see a pile of dog feces on the sidewalk and I think about the Oilers.

This is a recolored Heritage Classic jersey. If we take the silly "McDonalds" colours out, it's actually pretty sweet. The black isn't as black as I'd like it to be, but it's a good example.

Yeah, red and yellow are colours. I don't really care if they remind you of McDonalds, that's your problem. I hate when people say that, especially about the HC unis because the shades of red and yellow on those are farther away from "McDonalds colours" than the ones on our current 3rds.

It's like McDonald's has a monopoly on red and yellow.
Nothing to do with fire at all.

Overall I'm becoming quite dissatisfied that the Flames are getting rid of the current thirds. They have become BY FAR my favorite Flames jersey (and probably favorite jersey period). I have a blank one right now which I plan to fill with our next top5 pick.
This new third better be perfect, otherwise I'll start to hate our current home/aways for taking ice time away from out current thirds.
Very dissatisfied.

For all we know they're getting rid of the retro as a 3rd and making them our home set, hopefully that's the case.

Not a Monopoly, but when you alternate the colours to resemble a globally recognized mascot, people are going to think of it.

Except Ronald McDonald does not have Red & Yellow stripes. Ronald McDonald has Red & White stripes on his sleeves & socks and a full yellow torso with a singular vertical red stripe down the middle of the front.
Not even close to the same.

Plus, the colours are only similar on the horrible Chinese knock-offs, and anyone who wears one of those deserves to feel shame.

I have a few knock-off jerseys, as well as several real jerseys for various teams.
I don't mind any of the other knock-offs, but I will NEVER be seen in public wearing that pinkish-red and yellow Heritage knock-off. As soon as I got it, I went out and bought a real Heritage jersey because that is the most offensive knock-off I have ever seen.

i was talking about the striping, i just found a picture online, i didn't think it being slightly off in color mattered for the point.

I've been thinking of late. With how many games the Flames play in the retro jerseys (any Canadian team matchup or Saturday night game, and perhaps more), as well how much they showcase the jerseys on the Flames site (only jersey the players on the backgrounds are in), I would wager that Flames are actually going to introduce the retro away jersey and make that and the home the new primaries. No reason for the Flames to remove the retro, and use it so much, if you don't intend to keep it in the future for frequent use. And since rumours indicate it's just one jersey, it may be just to compliment the retro home to make the full switch.
If that is indeed the case, I hope they go full retro, and remove the black stripe outline from the Flames logo as well. It'll unnecessary since black wouldn't be a colour present on the primary jerseys anymore. All the other teams that don't have black as a team colour don't feature a black outline. If they remove it, I think it would make the logo look sharper strangely enough. Really completes going back to that 'classic' look.
Compared to with black outline.
Now even if it is the case that it's a brand new jersey, if it still follows the theme of only red, yellow, and white being the colours on the jersey, the Flames should make the switch to remove the black outline if it's the intention to transition the new jersey into becoming the primaries in the near future.

My biggest pet peeve is Piping. My 2nd biggest pet peve is when teams darken their colours or add black outlines. Combine this with a youth movement, no Bouwmeester... and I could be a very happy Flames fan next season.
