embarrassment.....LOL

Never again shall these weak warriors wearing the flaming C show their collective faces in Calgary after losing a road game in OT.

Sith overlord has spoken.

He might've gone overlooked, but I really liked Butler's game last night. He had a couple of nice hits, a few key stick checks that stopped scoring chances and he made some excellent outlet passes.

Yes, he had a penalty, but it was a fairly weak one. A guy the size of Rupp shouldn't go down that easy, so I don't blame Butler for that.

It's amazing how Butler looks when he's played in a role that doesn't exploit his downfalls as a d-man.

There are so many potential aspects in a single game that can be construed as 'embarrassing' that I think it may be time to just have generic PGT titles. That way, a single poster does not speak for the entire board, he/she can state their opinion in their post within the thread itself.

An overtime loss on the road, as painful as it may be, is certainly not an 'embarrassment'.

Thats why its important not to get our hopes up for this team. They just aren't that good to be consistent on a nightly basis. I think its painfully obvious. 9th spot here we come.

Good idea...the hyperbole around this place has hit a ridiculous level.

Also overlooked, I thought Smith had a good game - maybe his best of the season.

They had Wideman and Bouwmeester out a few times again last night - I am not a fan of that pairing at all. Keep the top 4 the way they were - Giordano has been slowly but steadily figuring out how to play with JBo, it'll come.

When one aspect of the game is that you go 5 min on a PP and canīt get a shot (lol), itīs still mindboggling to me. I donīt think Iīve ever seen something like that. Team should be embarrased by the effort and itīs not like the effort was much better outside the PP. 9 shots in the last two periods? Pathetic. And there are people saying they are happy with the effort

I don't understand it either. It's not like they stole a point from a powerhouse team, it's Minnesota. Does everyone think Hartley should pat them on the back? Gross display last night.

I cannot believe the over-reaction to this. Yes, it was bad, but it's not like it never happens. Every year there are situations where teams give up 2 short-handed goals on the same PP.

The drama here is over the top.

They better, that is the kind of crap they are trying to eliminate from this league.

The suspense is killing me. Do the flames win game 7 against the Devils in your fantasy land scenario?

I would qualify giving up 2 shorthanded goals on a 5 min major PP as embarrassing as well.

Not being able to set up on a 5 min PP, not getting a shot, getting out chanced, then following it up by doing the exact same thing on a 4 min double minor, I think that would qualify as embarrassing.

Don't get me wrong the PP has generally been very good this year at scoring and creating chances but blown opportunites like yesterday against a team we need to beat/battling with for a playoff is why so many people believe this team won't make the playoffs. It's frustrating to see the Flames tank year after year in clutch situations. They can't/aren't able to rise up in the big game, this team is destined for mediocrity.

Wes Gilbertson@SUNGilbertson
#Flames centre Matt Stajan told reporters today he passed concussions tests but his jaw and neck are sore from Charlie Coyle's hit.

Wes Gilbertson@SUNGilbertson
Stajan on Coyle: "He obviously came right at my head. I'm pretty sure that's what they're trying to get out of this league."

Wes Gilbertson@SUNGilbertson
According to @Russostrib, Coyle will not be suspended for last night's hit on Stajan.

I thought the NHL had been getting more consistent on disipline, but nothing for Coyle is a head scratcher

I agree. The Coyle hit was A) late and B) targeted the head. Textbook definition of hits they're trying to eliminate. Puzzled why it wasn't a suspension.

Why does it always feel like it's the Flames vs. everyone else? The bad reffing, the BS calls and now this. No suspension. <throws hands in the air>
