He pretty much is doing that. Harper said the meeting is still scheduled as far as he is concerned. Whether or not she shows up, I doubt he cares.
The GG is right for not going and really has no business in these affairs though. In fact, a representative of the queen getting involved in the business of elected politicians would be a terrible idea.
Even Phil Fontaine, while praising Spence's overall cause, was surprised and a little disappointed that she is blowing off the meeting. He saw it as a big victory for the Idle movement to even get the meeting.

So if the natives believe this involves The Queen (the treaties are with The Crown), maybe we can start to get some funds from Sweaty Betty?

Cue her raising a scene and attempting to embarrass Harper with a screaming fit.

While IMO her party is a policy mess, May actually has done a commendable job in the leg. representing the Greens and is not nearly as abrasive or holier-than-thou than most people expected her to be. She did win the parlimentarian of the year award. Obviously she's just as prone to some politicking now and then as anyone else, but she's also pretty practical and has a good sense of her place in the broader scheme of things. I realize she met with Spence, but her advice was pretty practical too - "meet with anyone who is willing to meet with you." (which of course Spence is ignoring).

Still don't get all the hubub about getting a "meeting" with the PM, of course its a start, but nothing is really going to come of this. They'll meet and come out announcing both sides would like to reopen dialogue between Natives and the Feds, yet status quo will prevail.
Call me when they've got some real meetings going and a new accord drafted and maybe we'll see some real change.

Anyone know if this will be a closed door meeting for the media? I would love to see this.

Which is utterly meaningless since votes were weighted based on party representation (i.e. the fewer seats a party has, the more each vote is worth). Since the Green Party has only one sitting MP, she received a huge handicap in the voting.

No she didn't get what she was demanding.
First demand was an in person one-on-one meeting with Harper.
Second demand, that the meeting be at least a week long.
Third demand, that the GG attend the meeting (that Harper called).
None of those things are happening. It should also be noted the Prime Minister meets with the First Nations regularly. Only thing significant about this one is that more people know about it due to the coverage.

Oh there's a joke in there about her being the Yeti but I just can't seem to think of one.

"You cannot ignore what is happening with Idle No More... We will drive the final stake in the heart of colonialism and it will happen in this generation," Shawn Atleo told a separate news conference.
Native Canadian leaders say they want more federal money, a greater say over what happens to resources on their land and more respect from the federal Conservative government.
"These are demands, not requests," said Nepinak. "The Idle No More movement has the people - it has the people and the numbers - that can bring the Canadian economy to its knees."
"We have the warriors that are standing up now, that are willing to go that far. So we're not here to make requests, we're here to demand attention," he said.

When are they going to realize that threats, blackmail, extortion, fraud etc. are not how you get people to support your cause?

I watched this news conference while at the gym today. First question from Q&A paraphrased "Do you think it's appropriate that a reporter coming to interview residents of Attawapiskat was escorted from the premises from reserve police after a phone call from Chief Spence?". Shawn Atleo proceeds to completely dodge the question and ramble for 20 minutes (literally) about the "true issues". Come to think of it, none of them answered a single question asked. Oh, and whoever asked that question was presumably also Native because he was pressing the point that his family are all from reserves as well.
