So I got hired by the UFV Cascade newspaper to be their Heat correspondent this season! Coincidentally, they found me on CalgaryPuck when I was updating you guys with the happenings at training camp.
So I get a press pass, locker room access, I'll be at the post-game interviews, and ultimately writing articles on the Heat for the Cascade. It's not a paid job, but it's excellent experience for a journalist student to have.
Because I have to write for the Cascade first, I won't be able to update you guys until late at night, possibly after midnight PST, but I'll still try to keep you guys and gals up date.
I'm nervous out of my mind for Friday, so I hope media people are down to earth. Thanks to Freeway for the giving me the best advice I've gotten so far.

Dan Kinvig is the sports editor for the Abbotsford News and is a really good guy. He's also very tall. If Dan's any indicator, Abbotsford sports media folk are pretty good. (He might not be representative, though.)

since it looks like the NHL season is done I have bit the bullet and will be getting the Heat team pass on AHL live. So hopefully I can give some insight and take the load off Pierre a little.

I always followed them statistically but without hockey I am going to go insane and I really am not a CHL fan, so it was either CIAU or Abbotsford, I think I made the right choice.

Hey PMM, terrific news! I should probably get to more Heat games than I do, but I know I can always count on your reports to get the latest news. Mrs. B and I have been meaning to take in an early game to see Baertschi play, just in case the NHL starts up again. Maybe we'll run into you there!
