Not just better but twice as good.
Jordan has shown many times he is a great player idiot outsidecf playing basketball. Lebron is doing things KoMe couldn't dream of.

Kobe also did things Lebron couldn't dream of as well. 81 points (55 of those points in the second half alone), 62 points in three quarters (outscoring Dallas), 12 three pointers in a game (NBA record), 61 points at MSG (another record). Lebron is having an incredible strech right now but don't ignore the great things Kobe has done as well that Lebron will most likely not do.

MJ is just trying to be politically correct. I would take LBJ over Kobe. If LBJ has Shaq at his prime, he'll win many rings. Even Wade won a ring with a half decent Shaq.

This dunk contest blows. On the other hand listening to Charles Barkley is so much more entertaining.
EDIT: He likely is going to be fined for saying the word fat ass twice on national television.

At least Ross won, he deserved it. I am glad he also called out Evans on using props, that ruins the competition.
I loved Barkley saying he would be watching Homeland instead of the dunk contest though haha. I wonder if it's at all beneficial for the NBA to have all their commentators trash their own programming while it's on the air.

The problem is James isn't really a great dunker; he'd probably win, but pretty much on name value alone.

LeBron right now is the best player of all time.

No, not even close. Lebron has been on a crazy stretch but he has yet to accomplish the things that Jordan, Wilt, Bird, Kareem, Magic, ect. have accomplished. He's not even a top 10 player of all time yet.

I'm talking peak. I think LeBron is the best right now as in this very moment.

The commentators during the dunk contest were the best part of the night.
barkley calling out the stars was bang on. All of them calling out the participants who kept missing was funny, especially when they said it was because they never get any playing time so being on the floor is new to them. Hilarious in a biting sense.

lol, how old are you 12? That's the problem with people today, they need to live in the here and now.
James still really hasn't had to perform in the clutch like Jordan, Johnson, Russell, and many other greats had to do countless times. James is known just as much for the cramps he had in the finals last year as any of his "dominant" performances.

I think when it is as obviously bad as that was then it is legit, especially coming from a guy like Barkely. If he would have tried to talk it up like it was entertaining people would know he was full of BS and it would have looked just as bad.

If James is not top 10 then that is a terrible list. Not top 5 without another ring or two but he is top 10 at this point.

I dunno if he's top 10 yet, there are an awful lot of all-time great players in the history of the NBA. Right now I'd have him just outside the top 10 in the Garnett/O'Neal range (which I feel is fair). If he wins this year, then top 10 sounds right.

I would say that Russell, Jordan, Bird, Johnson, Kareem are the top 5 and after that Lebron would be in the mix with the other guys. I am also projecting a bit and assuming that he plays out a normal career path.
I think he is in the mix with guys like Robertson, Chamberlain, Shaq for the next tier of guys.

LeBron will be top-10 for sure at his current trajectory, and if he can win a few more top-5 is possible. Kobe isn't top-10 to me, way too selfish a player when I can choose ten guys I consider better anyways who are better team players. Kobe left at least 2 and maybe as many as 4 rings on the table through his selfishness. That has to matter a lot, and its hard to consider LeBron selfish when Chris Bosh makes more than he does. Does anyone really think Kobe's pride lets him make less than Chris Bosh?

What a load of crap. I have a feeling no matter what he does, people are still going to say this. He destroyed the Thunder. Doesn't get any more clutch than the finals and he walked all over them.

This is garbage. He made mincemeat out of the Thunder and Durant. He is the greatest player I've ever seen play in my 17 years of watching sports. Messi is the only one who I legitimately rank ahead of him.

And yet Kobe averaged more points, and close to the same amount of assists (more in 2009) and rebounds in the Lakers victories over the Celtics and Magic. And Bryant was facing off against two of the better defensive teams in Boston and Orlando, meanwhile the Thunder are obviously not known for being defensively responsible, so it's pretty easy to put up good numbers on them.
Also don't forget that James still has two all-stars in their prime flanking him in Miami. Even without James the Heat would still be a contender.
Even Moon would have to admit that the current Miami Heat roster is better than any Lakers team Kobe has been on post-Shaq era.

Dwayne Wade is most definitely not in his prime.
