If we're doing 2 leagues, due to the amount of people signed up, what happens if we want to be in the same league as our buddies? Will the placement be random and just make us SOL if we're in different leagues?
I was intending to make it purely random in the scenario of two leagues. Assign a number to each person and then do random drawings into who goes into which league. I could make it work though if some people wanted to be in a league with another, as I understand some are buddies and personal friends with CP users.
I think I'm gonna get the EA Season Ticket so I can get the game a few days early. I could set up the 360 leagues nice and early that way so when you all pick up the game we'll be ready set to go, just need to join the league. I'm disappointed I won't be able to play HUT but I'll just play GM or something.
Anyways a few things on the Draft. What day will we do it? I'd vote for maybe a September 1st type of thing, all day. Perhaps over the weekend we could do the draft? The whole wanting to be with someone in another league should be 100 percent no issue whatsoever.
So my reccomendation is: Host the draft from the 31st-3rd of September so we can have around a week to set everything up.
The selection could be totally Random. I suggest we make the official threads tomorrow, and the cut off date could be the 3rd so everyone is set up, and then me and Joborule and anyone else who is bound to be the Commish for the other leagues (if we do any) can make sure everything is organized. As I said, I'll be getting the season ticket, so I can set it all up before the game comes out so we're all ready to go on the 360 come the 11th. Though I suppose we're starting later? Maybe we should get all this straightened out....
So I'm going to try to sum everything up and then everyone can discuss and tell me what they think.
So... here we go.

I think your problem is trying to almost be the center of everything, which is probably why you get flamed in a lot of your posts. Jobo has a good grasp of these things and can organize the draft dates and league rules. That being said, those that are listed have been pretty well agreed on by everyone here, so they look fine to me. The dates listed work for me as well.
I'd like to volunteer as one of the commissioners for one of the PS3 leagues, with Jobo running the other. If anyone else really wanted to or has any complaints I'd consider just taking a GM role.

I'm trying to help out, I don't see a problem with it. I'm not trying to be the center of things, I'm trying to help out and get this league as best it can. If there is something wrong with helping out, please, guide me to where it says so.
So far, we're roughly 3 weeks from release. I'm trying to make sure the Draft goes well, because a lot of people aren't available a lot, so I'd like to make sure those draft dates are mutually acceptable for everyone. There's a difference between trying to be the center of everything and trying to do the best I can to make the league as best as I can. It's not a matter of me trying to be controlling, I've said multiple times that I want to make sure everyone's happy and that everyone's having a good time because this is going to be a time dedication for a lot of us and we're gonna want to be having as good a time as we can.
If you want to be a commissioner for PS3. Go right ahead. I'm not stopping you. In fact, it's probably for the best, that way all the leagues are managed well and everything runs smoother. But I've got the time to dedicate to make sure everything runs smooth, and as a commissioner for the 360 I'd like to be sure that it does.
Again, I don't see your logic in me trying to be the center of everything. I'm listening to everyone and trying to fit everyone's wants and desires into the rules as quick as possible because lots of people want to know what they're getting in to, and I wouldn't care at all if you, or Joborule, or anyone else for that matter decided to do the same, in fact I'd appreciate it, that way we can all come to terms on something and have some decisions made.
Please, understand what I'm trying to do, and I'm sorry if I've offended you, or something like that.

What is this draft you speak of? There is no fantasy draft in the game. Unless you are talking about picking teams, in which case it should only take like an hour if people are actually on CP.
Also, on "League Approval", I assume this means trades right. Why just 2 days a week? If you want to be a commissioner it should be every day.
Can there be more than one Commissioner in a league, because more than 1 would be better.

AI difficulty superstar, not all-star. All-star I know will be a breeze to beat for some people including myself. And from my understanding the league will be starting a week after the release date so everyone can get settled, so getting an EA pass isn't necessary to set things up early.

I kind of agree on the setting to be Superstar, All Star is a bit to easy. I am planning on siming all my games but if I start noticing that im getting killed because the other guy is playing against a pathetic All-Star setting my interest in Connected GM will be gone rather quickly.

I think people are just looking at your join date and instantly questioning, additionally you started posting referring to yourself as a commissioner which might irritate some people. Several of the posters in here have been playing on the CP EASHL league for 3+ years (I remember when Bspec played) and they have been through this online fiasco a few times over and are just trying to look out for the Leagues best interest.
Don't get me wrong I have no issues either way I am just letting you know why you might be getting some push back.

If possible, I'd rather stay on all-star and adjust sliders to tweak difficulty up (or down) as we see fit.

Same with myself. I find it kind of stupid that people want to play games in a game mode that's meant for general managing, but if we're going to have people playing games I'd rather it be on superstar because, like you, I'd rather not get killed every game and lose interest in the league.

Agreed. I'll be simming 90% of my games because I'd rather devote actual playing time to modes that are meant for it (EASHL). The point of this mode is managing a roster to create the best team possible, whether it's through trades, playing strategies, etc. Not "who's best at raping the CPU AI". Like Diemenz said, if the difficulty is too low and human players are winning a high majority of CPU games, then I will lose interest fast.
Look at it this way. Let's say my sim team is playing FlyingDonuts' team, who claims he can score 5 goals against the All-Star CPU difficulty in a single period. I know from the start that I'm screwed regardless of how well I have GM'd my team, which is the entire point of this mode.
