Wickets in hand. Not afraid to get out anymore.

India are screwing this up. Pakistan can chase 300 down.

But i gotta go to sleep

Kohli is amazing.

Pakistan couldn't take any wickets in the middle overs. But they bowled well in the last overs as the score could have been easily upwards of 320. Hope these two sides meet again this WC, would be nice to see Pakistan win at least one.

Usual batting collapse by Pak.

The drop by U.Akmal cost big time. The difference was India held onto every chance and Pak had about 3 crucial drops, 2 off of Kohli and one off of Raina, both went on to make big scores.

Next match, enough of Younis Khan and Akmal. Yasir is not ready either. Bring in Jamshed, Ehsan and Safaraz.

First shocker of the world cup yesterday with Ireland chasing 304 with ease against West Indies. Irish have done that atleast once in the last 3 world cups.

Seeing where Ireland is how far WI has fallen, its not even a shock anymore. West Indies is a total mess right from the players leaving mid-tour to board and players butting heads to losses piling up. Once a powerhouse is a total circus now.

They might as well form difference teams; Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, and Barnados. 3 different teams, 3 different boards might be the solution there.

Current match; NZ should win it easy vs Scotland.

I know Canada was totally uncompetitive in past world cups, but why didn't they have a chance to qualify?

How do countries like Canada get better without opportunities to play and without the little bit of publicity that they would get by playing?

^Canada tried and failed.

Newer teams like Afghanistan are on a fast rise, Scotland has shown better. UAE played well. Ireland at this point should be given Test status (to be allowed to play against ICC members in 5 day matches, right now they're an associate team).

Canada has been left way behind. Another team that was improving but didn't qualify was Netherlands. With the US changing their Cricketing body in order to be more relevant/competitive, Canada won't have a chance. There's not much funding for it either, most of the players are immigrants who couldn't make the teams of the country they were born in.

I guess the cut down to 10 countries really made it tough for Canada to qualify.

Edit: I see there's 14 countries in it.

^ 10 Full members are still there. 4 Associates just like 2011.

In 2011 Kenya, Ireland, Canada and Netherlands were the 4 extra teams.

In 2015 Afghan, Ireland, Scotland, UAE made it.

Moving forward Afghan and Ireland will be regulars imo. Leaves 2 spots for like of Canada, UAE, Kenya, Scotland, Dutch. Will be in tough.

I watched the New Zealand Scotland game. Scotland getting all out for a low score - 143 wasn't a huge surprise (they lost 4 batsmen for 0, first time I have seen that). This considering the kiwis bowling attack, but what surprised me was how many wickets New Zealand lost (7) chasing that total.

Seemed to me like the blackcaps were just a bit too relaxed in their batting. It was pretty much in the bag once they got Scotland all out in like 36 overs. Was a fun one to have on in the background at work.

The 2019 World Cup will only have 10 teams.

In contrast the T20 World Cup will be held every 2 years and have 16 teams.

I think 50-over cricket is dying a slow death. Cricket will soon be composed of just Tests and T20s

I really doubt 50 over cricket is dying a slow death, its still really popular in all the major cricket nations. T20 was "created" so that cricket isn't labeled as a boring-all day game and to spread it throughtout the world, it has gotten popular no doubt but ODI's have been the heart and soul for cricket lovers for many many years and it will continue to do so. T20's are awesome to watch on an IPL level where all you do is just come in and smash every ball but there is something magical in a well paced innings by a batsman where they take thier time to settle in and can play cricket strokes.

Having said that, T20 World Cup is great way for the associates to make a name for themselves against the major cricket nations and it does yield some unexpected results which is good for the game.

New Zealand is absolutely humiliating England right now. Got England out for 123, and are on track to finish the game in 15 overs at the most.

Just pure domination. McCullum just set a record for fastest 50 in a world cup!
