How about not raising the flag of a foreign country at all when visiting the highest point of Africa? I know lots of people do it, but it's super gross.

While I think it's a bit ridiculous to ban them until an apology is made, I do think the article was a bit of poor taste, considering the reasoning.
That being said, one could also make an argument asking why he hiked the mountain for his sister but then made a political statement with the raising of the Alberta flag.

I dont think he did himself any favors by bringing the extra attention to an article few people probably saw to begin with. All he did was get more attention for it. And further revealed his level of petty.

Semi-serious question, how would one go about actually educating a large proportion of our populace about what the province is responsible for, what the feds are responsible for, what the Provincial government asked and advertised for and what the effects of that request was?

Easy, they're going to sow division and get everyone riled up then start slashing public funding to education, healthcare, environmental causes, supports for the disenfranchised then give out a ton of sole source contracts, tax breaks, cushy made up positions, then travel around accepting gifts, vacations, tickets and then...wait what are we talking about, OH YA THE LIBERALS CAUSED OUR BUDGET TO NOT BALANCE.
