Lol, so they're gonna get maybe a few dozen signatures at best? Not all Canadians who vacation in Arizona are from Alberta. I'm betting there are lots from other provinces as well. I hope the sane ones walk by their pathetic display and tell them to go f*** themselves.

Also, I'm guessing that setting up a signing table in a foreign country has to be downright illegal. Any experts care to weigh in on this one?

I took a quick look through the rules and don't see any mention of it needing to be in Canada or Alberta. I don't think this angle was considered.

Whatever the case, these traitorous losers must be desperate if they're setting up tables in snowbird states. What a bunch of f'n clowns. The Forever Canada petition didn't have to do that and they still got over 400,000 signatures.

This should be interesting. "We are incapable of managing provincial finances, so we are gonna try to scapegoat immigrants instead of taking responsibility for being truly awful at our job".

Disgusting.

Her culture war BS is going to destroy the province. I saw this news and thought it was interesting that more companies are standing up HQs in Calgary. The clip is really optimistic and talks about how Calgary is on the rise and will just keep rising.

The problem is that they completely ignore the separation topic and how many of these companies will pull their HQs if there is a referendum. As we learned from Quebec, a lot of corporations will bail just because of the uncertainty created by having a referendum. They won't wait to see the result... but if the result goes the wrong way then even more companies will depart soon after.

This was excellent. Does anyone know of a written analysis of the costs similar to what he discusses?

Canada's population growth over this period (which includes both net births/deaths and net immigration/emigration) is about ~1.2% per year on an annualized basis. That seems...fine? It's been a while since I studied this in university, but I seem to recall that annualized growth between 0.5% and 1.5% is what is needed to maintain a healthy and growing economy, so Canada has been right on track during that period.

This is nothing but racist, xenophobic fear-mongering.

I never would have expected the Danielle Smith UPC to write ill considered policy or make poorly thought out announcements.
