Super happy for the rain, but a little annoyed I had to turn the furnace back on this morning. Why can't we ever get nice warm rainy days?
I’ve always wondered that about southern Alberta’s climate. In other parts of the world you can get rain and it doesn’t dramatically cool the temp. But here, rain = cold.

One of the things I really miss about living in the Okanagan. I remember playing in the rain all the time as a kid, but my kids can't do that here without getting hypothermia

I used yesterday as a much needed, smoke-free cool down of my non-AC house. Windows were open a crack all day and night despite the rain and wind.
It was 18 degrees inside when I woke up, but slippers and hoodie have made it perfect. I know that it will get hotter and it is already smoky again, so I can't bring myself to add any new heat to the mix.
Even my Mediterranean-blooded wife who is always cold commented on how nice it was to actually be cold again. This is a milestone in the thermostat wars.
Eyyyy smoke down to a 4/10 this morning, I've watched it gradually dissipate quite a bit these first 2-3 hours alone since I woke up. Just in time for the weekend. Please just hold until that "rain" we're supposed to get by Sunday..
