Rumors for Monday morning:

Sharks top priority 4 days prior to the deadline is a defenseman. Schneider from the Rangers is near the top of the list. Sitting only 3 points out of WC2 with a game in hand on Seattle, they feel they can explore other options to get in as well but do not want to move away from their vision of being competitive in the next few years as they have a lot of young players. A name that came up this morning was MacKenzie Weegar. Was told San Jose is interested in him (Calgary obviously has an ask for a return that would need to be met to move him, but he's near the top of the list for San Jose in defenseman). There are some other names on d they are interested in as well but Schneider and Weegar are of high interest.

Personally, I hope they make a trade and finish 9th lol.

EDIT: Mario Ferraro has been called on from a few teams including Colorado.

Kind of weird - those are two completely different Dmen and contracts.

San Jose only has 2 defenseman signed for next season (Orlov and Dickinson). Klingberg, Ferraro, Desharnais, Liljegren are all UFA. They aren't going to be bringing back multiple defenseman next year. They are in search of different types of defenseman.

It won't happen but man it would be a dream for Calgary to trade Kadri, Coleman AND Weegar for a haul.
