Mavi Diary - day 32
Dear Diary. The ink is dry Diary! It’s a done deal. I couldn’t be more invested in the future.
The future of Oilers jerseys that is. People will recognize the smashing new oilers jersey as something very similar to what my wife designed for her fashion line! I made a few suggestions “for the future” and look at that beauty!
Well, I’m paid to say that. In reality, there’s far too much colour on it and not enough white. I asked for a pure white jersey with white numbers so that I could get more ice time and no one would know it was me. Spoiler alert: my +/- would be better because I could get off the ice without being noticed.
On my contract, I told the oilers that I still had to talk to my family; Lauren only wants to talk about work at her bar and I never get a chance to speak. I blurt out “let’s go” and she gets up from the table.
I told Emperor Nero, I mean GM Stan, that I wanted to see winning into the future. So he extended Trent Frederic for 8 years and podlozkin for another 3. Those players are here now so is that enough?
Coach Knobby told me that we such tremendous depth that he had no choice but to give Leon’s centre ice position to the tenderness, and wondered if I would be okay with Leon on my wing? He even said that it could be my idea! I’m stoked because Leon and I play half the game and all the power plays anyways…so basically we only have to leave the ice when the puck goes near our net. And Trent Frederic is a centre too just like Leon so really I can skate and dive wherever I want and my position is covered.
I saw that two rookies are projected to get like 100 points total and all I can say is not on my watch. If anyone needs an extra 100 points it’s me. I’m the one without any future contract. So yeah I expect to claim those points. See, pure white jerseys would have helped me here. I’ll charge these rookies a points fealty anyways since seriously, I’m the only one to get points.
I know that Leon says we’re better together so hopefully playing together will help him this season. He says that he wants to win a selkie which let’s face it is for the best player who doesn’t get any points. When I sign elsewhere, then Leon will be a shoe in for no points!
