Could you elaborate on how gay people for example are having a tough time, I see more openly gay and trans people than ever before. I think some of you on here complain too much. And if it wasn’t Smith that won the leadership and someone else you would still be crying.
Go to Drag story-time at the library and report back.

Thankfully people like that are balanced out by people who have zero standards and are on all fours ready to bootlick for anyone so long as they run under a conservative banner. Stop me if that hits too close to home for you.

When people who otherwise identify their beliefs as conservative and have historically voted conservative are coming out saying they can’t vote for Smith and hate her nomination… I dunno, maybe it’s time to question if people are complaining too much or if it’s just time to use your thinking cap a little bit more.

No offence… of course.

Tbf, that could be a function of a weak bench strength. Expected since the NDP didn't have any power prior

Smith's is almost certainly related to the requirement that she has to a) jerk off the necessary sycophants to ensure party unity, and b) also ensure that her toadies are taken care of.

No offence and you sound like you mean well but... anyone who says "Could you elaborate on how gay people for example are having a tough time" has ZERO understanding about the hardships that some people in our society face.

This is the exact same BS that was being peddled on all the Freedom Convoy pages. I still can't believe the UCP were dumb enough to put this moron in charge.

But what’s that have to do with Smith and the UCP or any other party? A couple churches around me have been vandalized in the past few months, which party should we blame that on? The point is you’re never going to fully eliminate that small group of people. Kind of like people who steal catalytic converters.

It also doesn’t help when people on here are so condescending calling others dumb bootlicks etc. but when one of your own calls the deputy premier who’s black a bootlick, you’re strangely quiet other than crickets.

I’m supportive of Smith because she was elected with the current process where anybody could have gone and bought a membership which is the norm for any party. We’ll also have a general election in a few months. I’m also not anti democratic.

And its easy to refute, with evidence or argument.

E.g. the child care one, Quebec already had, but in addition it's such low hanging fruit for the opposition, like this:

Your comment about gay people didn't specifically relate to the UCP either. You questioned how gay people have it tough and suggested they don't because you have seen more openly gay and trans people than ever before. Nothing you said there has to do with the UCP, and comes across as a general comment about gay people in our society.

I never linked the hardships of gay people to the UCP either, so I'm not sure what the hell you're going on about. I simply called you out on a stupid comment you made. My post was not political in the least. It was related to your notion that LGTQ people "don't have it tough".

Except that tweet is not factual. Smith isn’t saying she wants to cut funding daycare (she probably does though). She is saying that it is unconstitutional for the government to put conditions on the funding.

Now would she likely severely damage this program and more importantly health and education transfers which also have conditions? Probably, but that isn’t what her tweet says.

So you’d support ANY democraticly elected leader just because they got elected?

As well, the fact that you openly support Smith (which is fine btw) while also making comments about how LGBTQ people "don't have it tough" are striking. You're giving off a vibe of anti-LGBTQ while expressing support for Smith. Don't be surprised when people who care about LGBTQ issues don't support Smith, since her own supporters are making comments like the ones you just made.

You probably think you're making a case for Smith on here but you're hurting her image and furthering stereotypes that people have of her and the UCP. Bravo.

And I was replying to the post where Canadianman was going on about LGBTQ and that somehow it was Smiths/UCP’s fault. And unlike that poster, not to pick on them, I don’t feel like I don’t have a choice as far as who to vote for goes.

The point is, it's an easy counter narrative - "she wants to make life harder and more expensive for you".

That's my point, which is what I said in my tweet to begin with evidence or argument. Argument might not be the best word choice, fair enough.

Then how about next time you ask: "what do LGBTQ hardships have to do with the UCP?" instead of "how do the LGBTQ have it tough?"

Those are two different questions. One comes across as bigoted and the other doesn't. But you've now linked bigoted beliefs with Smith, so good job. To be clear, I'm not saying she's bigoted but you have with your stupid choice of wording. Again, your damaging her image on here, so if that's what you were going for, great job!

Also your comment above (the bolded part) doesn't make sense (double negative) and I have no idea what you're talking about.
