Shapo in 3 sets, including a bagel in the 3rd. someone from Shapo's team secretly replaces Djokovic's wolf energy healing water with sloth energy water, resulting in a record number of aces and easy backhand winners for the Canadian phenom.

Dennis should stay up all night watching how Thiem plays Djokovic. One handed backhand players Djokovic does less well against. He still wins most of the time but he can kinda struggle against them at times. And the time is now, Shapo comes out and holds nothing back. He takes this and then crushes Berretini in the finals. Eventually a Canadian will have to beat Djokovic, why not tomorrow?

Djokovic will get defaulted when he angrily launches a ball into the crowd and drills Kate in the face.

Just so you know what you're up against, Shapo is even money to win one set.
Shapovalov +2.5 sets (-105)
Shapovalov +1.5 sets (+320)
Shapovalov +7 games (-110)
Shapovalov to win (+725)

You just can't get suckered into painting lines against Novak as it will ultimately lead to way too many errors. You also can't try to beat him at his own game when he's just far better of a player.
For me, Shapo has a slim path to victory if he serves one of the best games of his life today (the wide sweeper will be key), and isn't afraid to exchange 7-8-9 shots before picking his spot to go after the point at the net or by generating a winner.

That was some excellent tennis by Hubert in that 3rd set and especially in the tie-break. We have to wait a little bit longer for Denis.

I have a lunch today, and lord I am hoping that we end up needing to sacrifice the patio for pub with a TV (assuming it starts before 10) because the odds online are that the match will be over before we eat haha. Hey, ho, lets go Shapo!

Interesting question. Suppose Shapovalov was playing in the final against Djoker on Sunday instead of today, but on the same day was a gold medal game featuring Canada. Which would you be focused on?

I guess that is why picture-in-picture was invented, but in all honesty, I think I would watch Shapo and record the gold medal game. I've seen Canada win gold before, but no Canadian male has reached the summit in singles.

But TV for which is my point... I think honestly the fact that it's Djokovic on the other side makes me more likely to watch hockey. I suspect most Italian tennis fans will be in a similar headspace.

Wimbledon final starts at 2pm local and the Euro final would be 8pm, so unless we got a monumental match at Wimbledon there doesn't have to be a choice here.
