Leaving Tippett out as he was in a power struggle with Maloney in Arizona. If GMBT and Maloney are tight, can’t see him coming.
Lindy Ruff is still out there as well I think.

You have a glaring issue. Fix it.
Because every owner in that group knows you will just keep paying.

Nope. He's an assistant with the Rangers.

maybe the players should just coach themselves, that way, Brodie can play on whatever side of the ice he wants to at any given moment.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his need!

4 legs good, 2 legs (with good hair and paisley ties) bad!

Not that I am advocating for Ruff, but I would bet that the Rangers would allow Ruff to talk to/interview for a vacant head coaching job. I would assume most organizations do this, especially when they bring in an experienced assistant that has been a head coach elsewhere.

Interesting to hear a perspective from outside the market.
He also spoke positively about Gulutzan's commitment to keep playing Brouwer and let him play out of his slump. I had to chuckle at that.

It kinda worked though no? Brouwer isn't playing bad at all and hasn't been for a while. Still way overpaid but contributing in a positive fashion.
I would though also say that the reason why GG kept playing him was lack of other realistic options on that side.

If you want facts, we made the playoffs last season and we're in striking distance to do the same this season. It's not like we're not in basement. No idea why you're bringing up Desjardins. It's not like the guy was a terrible coach. No one is taking that rebuilding team way past their prime to the playoffs even though he was able to do so in 14-15.

Why don't we just skewer Mike Babcock as well for his last place finish in 15-16 or Jared Bednar for his performance with Avalanche last season. Oh wait, Bednar is likely to be a Jack Adams candidate this season, so I guess not. I'm gonna say it here, too many people here put way too much stock into coaching. It's the players on the ice that determine the results more than anything.
Apologies in the two years, that should have been directed more generally towards GG supporters.

24 games is a little under a third of a season, and it shows this team has been mediocre even counting the 7 game win streak.

The fact that big name coaches make $5mln USD + would indicate that some teams feel coaching is very important. And Babcock went to the Leafs knowing they were at year 1 of a complete rebuild, and bringing with him significant hockey success in multiple organizations.

GG has coached teams to mediocre results, and if this is the best he can do with our current roster why not at least try something else. He has shown a complete refusal to adjust (see Troy Brouwer, Brodie on left D), and he sure hasn't improved his game management, so why not try something to improve.

Brouwer has had significant 2nd line time and 1st unit PP unit time, and has 3 goals. You can look at him and say, "well, he's playing better", but the reality is we won't know if some other players would have been more productive with those minutes since they are being force fed to Brouwer.

Would it have hurt to try Mangiapane on the PP? How about giving Stone a shot to fire some bombs? I'd rather have Frolik on the PP than Brouwer, and I don't care what hand he is since Brouwer has no one timer.

At least put in a player that takes Bouwers spot on your proposals. Brouwer plays infront of the net. Brouwer should be off PP units but they need to have in front net presence. I would put Chucky on 1st Pp and Ferland on 2nd.

As for 2nd line time.. he only filled in for when Frolik was injured. Sadly there was nobody better to put in Froliks place. No Mangapine is not better yet. Bennet is pure crap except for a 2 week period. Maybe you think Hathaway should be there? lol

Big name coaches don't do squat for what they get paid. It's so overrated. A highly touted coach in Todd McLellan was a costly upgrade over Eakins and he's coached the Oilers who have McDavid to 2 actually noncompetitive years that could actually get a coach fired.

Mike Babcock didn't turn around the Leafs either. Adding a franchise center in Auston Matthews, wingers like Mitch Marner and William Nylander and a #1 goaltender in Frederick Anderson changed things around. Look at how many Jack Adams winners have ended up being fired shortly after winning.

Coaching in this league is basically all the same today. It's just same type of guy who shows you some video, asks you to play a style like all the other teams and relies on the top players to win them games. Changing a coach isn't going to fix the underlying problems with this team.

Also with Brodie, they have to play him on his left side. There's not other choice. That's the way this team was built. 3 lefties and 3 righties. You can't ask 2 defensemen to both play on their opposite sides, no coach does this and there's a reason why. with Brouwer, the guy has to play somewhere.

Fact is, we were down 3 regular right wingers in Frolik, Versteeg and Jagr. Of course Brouwer was going to play higher in the lineup and with more responsibilities. This team is not deep on forwards, that's not the coach's fault. There's a lot of scapegoating going around and not enough blame being spread around. All of the TEAM's problems do not rest on the shoulders of 1 guy.

Two statements that aren't congruent:

1) This team is more talented than GG allows them to be.

B) Troy Brouwer was the best option to promote to the second line.

Speaking of 'Non congruent, well done. I liked that touch.
