Putting Pillar in the 5 spot was a mystery too. Gibby probably saw that Pillar had been hot lately so wanted to give him a shot but still.
Anyways I am glad that game is over with.

For context on wRC+ (from fangraphs):
160 = Excellent
140 = Great
115 = Above Average
100 = Average
80 = Below Average
75 = Poor
60 = Awful
-2 = LOL

hahaha yeah
You basically have to be so bad that you break the equation. If your OBP/League + SLG/League adds up to less than 1 and you're in a favorable park, you get a negative number. He's "slugging" .161.

The next time Dickey pitches the Jays should just DH for Thole and let RA hit.

Lost in this offensive beatdown is also the fact that this is another poor performance by the bullpen. These clowns can't seem to go an inning without letting a run up.
This needs to be addressed, still confused as to why it's continuing to go on without any action (Grilli isn't enough). I hope they don't think Cecil coming back is going to be their saviour.

There's talk about putting Sanchez back into the bullpen.

Yeah, because of his innings limit. How do they replace his spot in the starting rotation? He's without a doubt their ace and would be the go to in any wildcard or playoff game.
Hutchinson could do some spot starts, but I don't see him a very good answer with a team with playoff ambitions.

I'd be going with Sanchez over Estrada in any elimination game. His stuff his electric. Estrada is a decent pitcher, but he's no ace. You lay off on his junk balls, and Estrada can be whacked all over the field. Easier said than done, but Baltimore sure poked some holes in his armour. Hopefully more teams don't copy cat what Baltimore's game plan against Estrada was. Estrada should be a #3 pitcher on a contending team, #2 at best.

Estrada was 2nd in the American League in WHIP last year (5th in ERA), and leads the AL so far this season (4th in ERA).
The guy has turned into a true ACE. He may not have that electric stuff that makes highlight reels but in terms of managing the game and truly pitching he is an ACE.
The only AL contender on which he would probably be a #3 pitcher on right now would be the White Sox.

Estrada may not be your prototypical flamethrowing strikeout machine ace, but don't be mistaken he's definitely been one the last couple seasons. His opponents batting average against this season is only .168, the best in all of baseball.

Although we'd lose our closer, I'd like to see Osuna be stretched out and tried in the rotation.

Loup and Diamond sent down, no word on who moves up yet.
Sanchez to the bullpen could mean Floyd moves in to the rotation, or Hutchison comes up.
Won't happen for a while so I'm sure if it happens there could be some other options by then as well.

He gave up 4 hits over 6 innings against a flaming hot Orioles offense. His problem lately has been his walks, which is atypical for him as he has pinpoint control.
Underwhelming fastball or not, Estrada is this team's ace. And the way he's pitching, would be a lot of team's ace; he's been that good.

I think that ship has sailed. Was the original plan, but Osuna himself has said he'd prefer to be an every day closer. He's only 21 though so there's still time.
