Does anyone know a good spot where we can park and watch the activity on the new runway?

A new tail is always a welcome sight!
I figure we are relatively spoiled at YYC for an airport our size since we also get the Cargolux 748 at least once a week too.

Indeed, the new runway has claimed her first victim today, and her name was one of the mains on WestJet's fin 261.
Here she is on a better day.

Gonna be 'they did it, not us' rhetoric from both sides, but Ukraine officials say 280 passengers and 15 crew killed in Malaysian airliner crash, shot down by pro-Russians

Hellenikon airport closed in 2001. Came across this on the Herald's website and thought there were some interesting pictures to share.

Just a f-18 Hornet taking off about 7:10. Pretty cool, what a roar.

Is it just not possible to have an airshow with the sun behind the crowd? Seems that none of the ones I go to are ever set up that way.

The demonstration CF-18 was struck by lightning last night on the way to Whitecourt for their upcoming airshow.
Thankfully the strike didn't cause any electrical or structural problems and he landed safely without any damage.

Brand spanking new Cargolux 747-800F on its way to YYC right now from SEA. This is most likely its first commercial leg.
