I think the Super Bowl winner is coming from the North. The Bills have only beaten 3 teams with a winning record.

Keenan Allen has to have dropped more balls this year than the rest of his career combined

I think that's green bay too.
Minny just feels fake to me. Detroit is good, but super injured. Green Bay probably has a good shot at it, but that defense is porous at times.

Detroit is banged up but they also have a lot of talent on offence and it’s still explosive.
Also why did Williams hurdle air lol

Eagles will win the NFC. Both their offensive and defensive lines are elite, they have high end playmakers on offence, and Vic Fangio has that defence playing great. Plus they're healthier than other teams. Won't be surprised if them and Baltimore end up playing for the Superbowl.
If Detroit gets there, that will be a pretty epic coaching job by Campbell to pull that off.

Green Bay's biggest issue is having to count on Lafleur to not botch the game management stuff, which is much more crucial in the playoffs (see: McCarthy, Mike).

Watching Pierce fail it got me to wondering has any team successfully transitioned an interim coach to head coach and had that lead to long term success? I can't think of an example of it succeeding

I mean how often has the interim coach even made it two full seasons as the head coach? Only one I can think of recently was Jason Garrett, and, well, lol at that being successful. But he did make it to almost 10 years after taking over for Wade Phillips mid-season.

And not that Bisaccia would have been a world beater or anything, but not giving him the full-time gig just to go for McDaniels is the rare time not choosing the interim was the bad idea. Raiders certainly have the tendency to make spectacularly wrong choices.

It really depends who stays healthy and the NFC playoff should be fun.
If things stay as they are:
Bye: Lions
Vikings @ Rams
Packers @ Buccaneers
Commanders @ Eagles
All three of those games are pretty close with the Eagles having the biggest advantage but if Daniels is healthy he could potentially surprise them.
AFC is a bit less fun...
Bye: Chiefs
Ravens @ Texans
Broncos @ Steelers
Chargers @ Bills
Bills are the hottest team in the AFC...but TBH I don't love the coaching match up of Harbaugh vs McDermott for them in a playoff game...

Marv Levy but otherwise it's a graveyard for the most part. It was a bad hire but I don't blame Davis (I blame him for everything else) so much for this one as there was a lot of pressure from players like Crosby, Adams, etc to bring him back and coupled in with the Bisaccia to McDaniels blunder, he cratered and gave the players what they wanted. A guy like AP would only go as far as his coordinators could take him and he hired one of the worst OC's in the NFL. That said I don't know how many coaches could win with the QB situation as Minshew was a lot worse than anticipated and AOC keeps getting hurt and even when healthy is only a quality backup QB. It's a mess but at least they have broken in a lot of young players on offense getting valuable development snaps. Even though it's not a great QB class I suppose it will be exciting drafting either Sanders or Ward as it's been a while since the Raiders have drafted a QB in the first round.

My memory sucks these days but was JaMarcus the last Raiders first round QB? Carr was an early second rounder. Can't remember if they drafted any between Carr and my man. They had the Jason Campbell and Carson Palmer era between those two.
I would love a JaMarcus vs Jameis game.

The underrated part of Playoff Machine is it also doubles as Tank Machine. There's a scenario with a six way tie at 3-14. Should have a tank playoff for the #1 pick in that scenario. This Tankfest is gonna go a long way to determining the QB market. Poor QB draft by most accounts save the top two guys, which means they're likely going 1-2. And pretty much everyone who would end up 3-14 would want a QB, save New England. So Cousins will probably have a market for whoever doesn't get one of the QBs, and he should be cheap to acquire unless Atlanta wants to eat a ton of that contract to improve the return.

Last night’s game was painful to watch, probably for the best if that’s all Cousins can do.

Cousins was always a bad bet for the 2024 season based on how long it can take to fully recover from achilles surgery especially at his age. I expect he will be better next season but the problem is that contract really isn't very desirable and the Falcons would face a severe dead cap hit even by trading him. It's kind of a bad look on the organization given they were always targeting Penix to be their guy and it's going to hamstring their ability to build properly around him while he's on his rookie deal.
