He seems to play every now and then. Believe he's only played a handful of games this season. And now with this made up job position with the oilers I'm sure he's done playing.

They were actually better looking in that pic than when they played. Anyway, it was a joke, in the ENG thread. Why so offended?

Talbot sure has played a large proportion of the games...on pace for a 75 game season? LOL

Just to follow up my question from before, I wore my jersey to Rogers Place and had a great experience. Quite a few jabs from the fans, but in a friendly manner. Only one really drunk jerk who got silenced by the Oiler fans around me before I could even respond. I think it helped leaving the stadium that we lost though. I've had much, much worse experiences going to games with fans of the opposite team at the Dome.
So Edmonton is no good, but the fans are alright in my books.

Edmonton fans are addicted to Kool-Aid like no other but they are for the most part civil. Its the provinces on either side of Alberta where the fans are low hanging fruit.

Their fans aren't jerks (for the most part), they're just unbelievably delusional. I find the Oiler fans here in Calgary to be much worse than the ones in Edmonton.

The province to the east features fans that like to wear low hanging fruit.

Agreed.
Been to maybe a dozen BOA games in Edmonton, without issue. And probably half a dozen in Calgary, often with some issue with drunk and stupid Oil fans in Calgary.

I did enjoy their opening video, basically a brainwash sequence from the owner talking about how the stadium will change the way the rest of the world looks at the city. It felt like something off of one of those old sci-fi movies or the Island.
The stadium is nice, for sure... but the bathrooms were still lined up! Took me 15 minutes to get in to pee during the one intermission. All this money and you couldn't solve that problem? Didn't see much difference between what they had and what the Dome has.

You know what? Some of us "low hanging fruit" are also lifelong Flames fans. Ah nevermind, no sense getting worked up, I just considered the source.

So in case anyone was worried that Edmonton was becoming less no good don't worry. Talbot is playing again tonight. Even if the world really is on tilt and they somehow make the playoffs they aren't going to have a goalie left when they get there. They ate going to ride him straight into the ground and I can see exhaustion issues setting in after another month or so.

The Oilers won 4-3 in overtime.
Seems they're rarely able to win in regulation.

But did you see the overtime mcdavid goal? The keeper glove saved it and they reviewed it and said the puck was over the line in his glove. If that were us we probably give a penalty away for talking to the ref.

Which of "us" are you associated with? The ones that riot after losses or the ones that dump manure on the lawns of players? That stuff doesn't happen in Calgary or Edmonton. I would guess Regina is Rtown? If that's the case you only need to take a quick trip to Riderfans.com where you can see where a lot of the country's low hanging fruit hangs out. Don't take it personally as we all know full well that there are plenty of good fans in BC and Saskatchewan. It's just a shame that a lot of fans there ruin it for everyone.

Oilers are going to get San Jose or Anaheim. It doesn't matter if Talbot flames out. That series isn't going to go well for them.

The Oakland Raiders made the playoffs after 14 years of missing. It was going to eventually happen.

After their next home game on Friday against Nashville, the Oilers play 12 of their next 16 games on the road. They do have a good road record thus far this season, but let's just see how things look at the end of February for Edmonton, still plenty of hockey left to be played.

As much as it sucks they get full marks for having the current longest winning streak in the NHL. Still lots of hockey to be played, and at some point you have to wonder if they start thinking about the playing time Talbot has. I think they understand that their chances without him go down dramatically which is why they have been playing him so much. Will be curious to see who the Flames play on Saturday.
